decrease these items accordingly. List changes:

Monthly expenses are $3,148, which leaves us leftover with $2597.83 each
month.

6. Decide how you are going to save. Be specific about the form of
savings.
(Near-term/mid-term/long-term: Checking, Certificate of Deposits, 504, etc.)

- Placing 45% of income into savings before spending. Saving up

money long term before buying a house.

7. What other needs, wants, or goals should be added? Figure those into
your budget and list below.
- Buying a house
- Buying another car
- Eventually investing money in stocks

8. Unforeseen Economic Forces and Their Effects: Inflation

Which needs and wants would increase in price with inflation?
Gas goes up, consumers less likely to spend businesses have a hard time

How would the budget have to be adjusted to combat the effects of

inflation? Be specific.
In order to combat the effects of inflation, the budget on things like
entertainment would most likely be lowered.

9. Unforeseen Economic Forces and Their Effects: Unemployment

The member of your family who makes the least amount of money is
fired/laid off for four months with only $300.00 a month in unemployment.
What effect will this have on your family?

Be specific about the changes that will need to be made to the budget.
If one of us were to be laid off, We woudl definitely have a harder
time coping. We we would most likely have to dig into our savings. LUckily,
he had been saving around half of our monthly income in order to prepare
for things like this.

Can you get to your savings? (Is it accessible?)

If this family member were out of work for six months, would your
family survive?
If this were to happen, I think that we would be able to get by
because of the amount of money that we have saved. It will not last forever,
but it should last long enough until another job is found.

10. Unforeseen Expenses and Their Effect: Babies

A new baby is to soon enter the household. Budget into monthly needs
approx. $680.00 for daycare, $150.00 for formula/baby food, and $150.00
for diapers.
In what other budget areas might adjustments have to be made to
accommodate the new family member? Be specific.
To accommodate, we would most likely lower the budget on clothing and
entertainment and have to take money out of the amount we save every
month. Instead of saving 45% , we would probably save only 35% in order
to take care of the baby.

How does the new addition to the family impact the "family" budget?
Explain.
The new addition impacts the family budget becasue we would have
to raise the price of necessities like food, clothing, insurance, and rent. We
might also have to find a bigger apartment/house if ther are any more
additions to the family.
