2 INSPECTION & TEST INSTRUCTION

Generator output / Neutral Point Cubicle (NPC)is intended to house phase &
neutral busbars that serve as interconnection between the generator terminals and
the isolated phase busduct.
NPC is being a static electrical equipment, before commissioning .
Following Inspection & Test Instruction shall be followed as defined bellow.

2.1 Dry Power Frequency Voltage Withstand Test

2.1.1 Purpose
Dry Power frequency Voltage withstand test is carried out to check the
dielectric strength between enclosure & conductors.

2.1.2 Instruments Used

HV Testing Kit 0-75kV.

2.1.3 Procedure
 The test voltage shall be applied between each phase and earth in turn
with remaining phases earthed.
 The Voltage shall be increased from its initial value (zero) to test value and
maintained for one minute. During the test one pole of testing
transformer shall be connected to earth and other to the frame of busbar
enclosure.
 The test voltage being power frequency AC for 1 minute.

2.3.1 Purpose
To check the insulation resistance of the insulating material.

2.3.2 Instruments Used

Mega Ohm Meter (500 V / 1000V)

2.3.3 Procedure

 Connect proves of the mega ohm meter between the conductor and the
enclosure.
 Select the voltage range i.e. 500V for the measurement of insulation resistance
of the equipment which are operation on 240V system. Select
