Fall Party – In an effort to enjoy and celebrate the Halloween Parade at Mill Valley Elementary (appropriately, respectfully, and 10/22- D (Art in accordance with school rules, we ask that families and students 10/23- E (P. E.) use the following guidelines when selecting a costume: No head coverings unless it is part of the costume, NO masks, 10/24- A (Technology) make-up or FULL face paint. No hair coloring. Staff members 10/25- B (Library) must be able to identify students. Costumes that are revealing, or employ questionable props are 10/26- C (Music) not permitted. Costumes that depict violence, gruesome appearance, horror, or could be scary to some children, are not permitted. Fake weapons are not allowed. Costumes that could be offensive or perpetuate a stereotype of someone’s culture, gender, heritage, or religion are not Star Student of the Week permitted. Costumes may not disrupt or impede traffic, or present issues of safety in the hallway during the Halloween Parade. Carter If you have any questions regarding the appropriateness of your Birthdays This Week: costume idea, we encourage you to speak your student's teacher or call the office at 937.578.6900. Ahmed Students will be getting dressed at 2:15 pm on Wednesday, October 31st. We will start lining classes up at 2:35 pm. Parties will start immediately upon returning to the classroom. Parents may arrive at 2:35pm.
ALL Treats (birthday, class parties, class This Week’s Focus
snacks) MUST be store-bought packaged treats with all ingredients listed on the label. This request is necessary due to the many food allergies and sensitivities we have in our student population, Writing- including peanut, tree nut, dairy, food dye, strawberries, etc. For Opinion Essays classrooms with a known peanut allergy, ALL treats must be peanut-free AND produced and packaged in a peanut-free facility (should state this on the label). By working together, we can Reading- best protect our students and prevent food-related emergency situations, for both known and unknown cases. Store packaged Main Ideas and Key Details fruits, Veggies, and other healthy snacks are also encouraged! Thank you so much for your understanding.
