ExxonMobil Scholarship 2018/2019 | Application Guide and Requirement

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Szeged and ExxonMobil
invites applications from suitably qualified persons into its Scholarship program for University
Students with an interest in pursuing a finance and accounting career in the oil and gas industry.

ExxonMobil is the world’s largest publicly traded international oil and gas company, providing energy
that helps underpin growing economies and improve living standards around the world. ExxonMobil
uses innovation and technology to deliver energy to a growing world.

The scholarship covers the opportunity for a university students to apply for one semester tuition fee
where ExxonMobil Business Support Center Hungary Ltd. (hereinafter: ExxonMobil BSC) offers to
pay the fee on behalf of the chosen candidate for the Autumn Semester of Academic Year 2018/2019.

To be considered eligible, intending candidate MUST:

 Be registered full-time undergraduates in University of Szeged


 Successfully accomplished at least 4 academic semesters in the relevant program including
minimum of two semester of accounting studies and successfully passing mandatory classes
for 2018/2019 school year
 The applicant completed a minimum of 114 credits
 Applicant will be able to spend their (obligatory) internship at ExxonMobil BSC’s Budapest
office
 The applicant is willing to commence the (obligatory) internship at ExxonMobil BSC no later
than July 2019
 The chosen candidates are willing to complete Skype interview
 The top 3 applicants are willing to participate in personal interview at ExxonMobil ExxonMobil
BSC’s expense (after 1st round skype interview)
 In case of a disciplinary decision made against the student, while it is in effect, the student
may not apply for a scholarship
 Students who are currently on similar scholarship awards from other oil and gas companies
should not apply
 Students who are currently on any other scholarship should not apply
 Dependents of employees of ExxonMobil BSCare not eligible for this scholarship

Evaluation Criteria:

 Fluent level of English and second European language encouraged


 Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills
 Attention to accuracy and detail and ability to meet priorities and deadlines
 Willingness to take initiative and seek challenges
 Ability to work 40 hours/week depending on the internship program
HOW TO APPLY

Scanned copies of the following documents will be needed during registration via www.eco.u-
szeged.hu/scholarship/

 Copy of the application form filled on www.exxonmobil.hu site applying for Hungary:
Corporate Financial Services – Controllers Analyst (please write in the Comment field ‘SZTE
GTK osztondij program). Online application MUST include that the submission is for the
SZEGED-EXXONMOBIL Scholarship Program
 English Curriculum Vitae and Cover letter
 The student completed at least 114 credits
 The student’s statement that they were not/are not a student in any other training /
scholarship program
 The student’s statement that they are not subject to a disciplinary penalty
 Any other documents that the Applicant finds important to submit to win the scholarship

A Committee of SZTE GTK and ExxonMobil BSC representatives shall be authorized to evaluate the
applications. No remedy shall be available against the Committee’s decision.

Until a decision is made, the submitted applications shall be archived at SZTE GTK. Pursuant to the
Data Handling Policy of the University of Szeged, the applications shall be destroyed after the
communication of the results.
The applicants shall be informed electronically by SZTE GTK about the result of the evaluation process
after completing the interview at ExxonMobil BSC.

Deadline of the Receipt of Applications:


10st September 2018
Only fully documented application are considered

Deficiencies may not be remedied after the announced deadline of receipt of applications.

Additional information required


 The student’s statement of compliance with the terms and conditions of the Invitation to
Applications
 The student’s statement that enables the Committee members and the administrators of the
application to manage their personal details
 If awarded the scholarship, the student’s statement that allows their personal details
(especially their name and major) to be used in the communication of SZTE GTK and
ExxonMobil BSC, their statement that allows images and/or sound recordings to be taken of
them, and that these may be made public through the communication of SZTE GTK and
ExxonMobil BSC.
 The student’s statement that they shall be available for media purposes regarding the
application and the scholarship
 The student’s statement of consent to consult in advance with the appointed representative
of SZTE GTK in connection with any media inquiries about the application and the scholarship
