Dear Banner Boswell Observation Unit,

I am writing you today to inform you of my interest in a career in nursing with Banner Health. I
currently attend the University of Arizona in the Bachelor of Science in nursing program. I am
expected to graduate in December of 2018.
I have been a student at the University of Arizona since August of 2014. I currently have a GPA
of 3.4 and am involved in many extracurricular activities. My sophomore year of college at had a
leadership position in the Wildcat running club as the Social chair. I was in charge of organizing
events volunteer and socialization events within the club.
I have been a certified nursing assistant with Banner Health since May of 2015. I work as the
resource staff at Banner Health, so this means I have worked on every floor in the hospital. I
started with Banner Health at Banner Boswell in Sun City, Arizona, but I transferred to
University Medical Center Tucson in August of 2016. Today, I am still currently employed at
University Medical Center Tucson.
I have been interested in nursing since I was 8 years old. When I was 8 my grandparents got in
severe car accident and I just remember the nurses taking such great care of them, it left a lasting
impression on me. Throughout my career in hospital as a certified nursing assistant, I have been
able to work on multiple different units, allowing me to experience different multitudes of
nursing. This allowed me to determine what types of nursing I like and dislike. From these
experiences I have determined that I am really interested in the emergency department,
observation, and operative care. These units have the fast-paced environment that I thoroughly
enjoy.
Given all my experience and passion for nursing, I feel that I would be a great addition to the
