Dear Nurse Recruiter,

I am writing to you in application for the Registered Nurse New Graduate Residency Program.
As a May 2024 graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I
am eager to begin my critical care nursing career in the PCCU. I believe that Tucson Medical
Center offers an amazing program for new graduates where I could thrive as a nurse.

In the fall of 2023, I completed my clinical rotations in the PCCU and ICU at Tucson Medical
Center and enjoyed my time on the units immensely. It was TMC critical care nurses who guided
me through administering IV medications through a central line, tracheostomy care, IV
insertions, and more. While I have learned a lot as a nursing student, I know that there is so much
that I will continue to learn when working on a unit as a new grad. I am a hard worker, and I
have a desire to learn everything that I can in order to provide the best care possible for my
future patients. As a nurse, my goal is to establish trust with patients and make them feel heard
by advocating for them. I am also able to communicate conversationally with Spanish-speaking
patients and families, having studied the language for 8 years.

If hired, I would bring well-developed teamwork and collaboration skills to the unit. I am always
willing to help others and offer assistance when I am available. Understanding the critical
conditions of these patients, I am observant and detail-oriented, which helps me to quickly
recognize and act on changes in condition. I understand the importance of good communication
skills in healthcare to support positive patient outcomes. As a licensed RN, I will collaborate
with various disciplines in a variety of ways to provide quality care. Looking toward the future, I
anticipate taking my NCLEX at the end of May or June of this year, depending on when I am
eligible.

Since completing clinical rotations at TMC, it has been my desire to pursue a career in critical
care nursing at this hospital. I have a lot of respect for the staff on this unit and the positive
culture that they cultivate. The TMC community has had a positive impact on my time as a
nursing student, and I would love the opportunity to continue working with the amazing nurses at
TMC and provide future nursing students the same support that I received.

Sincerely,

Emma Kampschroeder
