OUTSTANDING PIChE CHAPTER AWARDS

(OPCA)

An Award Program to Honor Outstanding PIChE Chapters

Aimed at giving recognition to PIChE Chapters who

have achieved numerous milestones in their activities, the
OPCA serves to motivate members in the various chapters
to strive more towards participating and contributing to the
goals and objectives embodied in the organization.

Every chapter can make its mark in the community

through the concerted efforts of its member Chemical
Engineers.

PROCEDURE

1. All local chapters are required to prepare an annual report of their

activities covering the period January 1 to December 31, 2017. This will
be the basis of the chapter’s good standing.
2. The report must follow the format as indicated on the award criteria
and qualifications.
3. The report must be supported with appropriate documents,
photographs, and other evidences.
4. The report must be submitted together with a transmittal letter
addressed to the PIChE Awards Committee duly signed by the
Chapter President and Secretary.
5. The report together with the soft or electronic copy should be
received by the PIChE National Office on or before January 15, 2018.
 AWARD CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS

I. Community Outreach (20 pts)

1. Initiated by the Chapter = 15 pts
2. Outreach Projects through other organizations = 5 pts

II. Member-Development (50 pts)

1. Recruitment of Members = 10 pts
(Attach current roster of membership)
2. CPD-accredited seminar = 10 pts
(Attach copy of CPD certificate and documentation of the CPD seminar)
3. Team building activities and Leadership training = 5 pts
4. Seminars Initiated by the Organization = 5 pts
5. Attendance in Seminars sponsored by
other organizations = 5 pts
6. General Assembly and Monthly Meetings = 5 pts
7. Exposure trips, etc = 5 pts
8. Newsletter = 5 pts

III. Support to the PIChE National Board (15 pts)

1. Assigned to spearhead a PIChE activity = 5 pts
2. Assigned to assist a PIChE activity = 5 pts
3. Support to the Board of Directors = 5 pts

IV. Observance of PIChE Requirements & Policies (15 pts)

1. Payment of membership dues = 10 pts
2. Participation in National Convention = 5 pts

AWARDS AND AWARDING CEREMONIES

OPCA awardees will receive a trophy and this will be given during the recognition
ceremony of the 79th PIChE National Convention at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang MM.
