ORIENTATION OF PARENTS FOR ESC AND SHS VOUCHERS

NARRATIVE REPORT
In every beginning of the school year, students particularly the new enrolees together with
their parents need to be acquainted about how the school works and what are the policies of the
school. In connection with this, Saint Ferdinand College-Cabagan Campus Basic Education
Department conducted an orientation program for the parents to discuss to them the Educational
System Contracting (ESC) and SHS Vouchers as well as the school policies. The program was
held last July 14, 2018 at SFC Cabagan Campus ground.
Upon arriving at the venue, parents were directed to register for monitoring of the
attendance. They were instructed to indicate their personal contact number for future updates. At
exactly 8:00 am, the event started where Sir Edwin Tandayu opened and hosted the event. It was
then followed by the welcome address of Sir Orlando R. Macaballug, the school principal.
The information about the ESC and SHS vouchers was explained and elaborated by Sir
Emmanuel Roman Monterubio. During the discussion, questions were raised by concerned parents
regarding the reasons for possible removal of their child in the ESC and SHS vouchers. As a
response, Sir Monterubio explained the rules and regulations how the students can be qualified to
be a grantee of the voucher until they graduate from the school. Moreover, the school also took
this opportunity to orient the parents about the school policies and the sanctions when these rules
are violated. Some of these are the use of the complete and prescribed uniform, prohibition of
using cell phone inside the classroom, habitual absences and violence of the students.
Furthermore, Sir Macaballug also communicated to the parents some important matters
like the improvements in the school surroundings and in the students’ behaviour. He emphasized
that the school strictly monitor the cleanliness of the school community and the attendance of the
students. He also reiterated that parents will be notified right away when their child get habitual
absence and/or skipped class. In addition, parents were also informed about the progress of the
construction of the new buildings and school facilities like the computer and science laboratories.
The said orientation was ended with the closing remarks of the school principal where he
sincerely thanked the parents for sparing their time to attend the said program and for their
unending support and entrusting the education of their children to the school.
