Chapter 2: Marketing Aspect

I. Problem

A lot of diseases such as food poisoning or other related problems are spreading

due to the unhygienic preparation of food being sold in stalls located in public areas. The

staff preparing and selling the food sometimes do not follow prescribed hygiene while

preparing and serving the food. This causes the spread of abdominal diseases among the

people, especially children. (Saqib Khan, 2017) Food sold in food stalls are poor in

nutrients, calorie dense and high in fat and sugar. However, fast food’s ability to damage

health is not enough reason to avoid this diet-destroying fare. It also makes people obese.

(Sara Tomm,n.d). Fast food is also containing preservatives which increase health risks

and issues.

II. Solution

Matacos offer food such as Tacos, Nachos and fruit-infused drinks which are

healthy and contain no preservatives. It is a combination of fresh ingredients which are

grounded beef, fresh vegetables, homemade sauces, taco shell and tortilla chips. Matacos

followed almost all the hygienic processes or procedures. The following procedure that

our company would follow is washing hands, It is important to help prevent harmful

bacteria from spreading from peoples’ hands. All staff that works with food must wash

their hands. Next is every person working in a food-handling area must maintain a high

level of personal hygiene and of course our staff will wear clothing that is suitable, clean
and protective as well and to make sure to follow other hygienic procedures. Matacos’

products contain low calories and it is finger licking good.

III. Target Market

The proponents aim to sell their products towards the people that pass through the

Holy Rosary Church. The said passers-by include students, working-class citizens,

unemployed citizens, children, and adults among other. This is due to the fact that tacos

VI. Market Research

Product/Service Line Development

An alternative taco shell/tortilla is prepared prior to the sale of nachos and tacos.

The aforementioned taco shell provides more nutritional benefits. For instance, the

cauliflower, one of its ingredients, contains many nutrients, high in fiber, a good source

of antioxidants, may aid in weight loss, high in choline, and low-carb alternative to corn

tortilla (Wanikar, 2017). The recipe for the taco shell and the sauce are disclosed as per

request by the owners of each respective recipe.

The taco shell can be prepared in numerous ways that will depend on the choice

of the customers, it can be steamed, fried, or baked. After doing so, the customer can

have the option of choosing and adding additional toppings to tacos and nachos, like

salsa, pico de gallo, guacamole and cilantro. They can also choose to add various sauces

offered by the company such as sour cream and creamy chipotle sauce.

Data Gathering Technique

The study utilizes questionnaires and surveys as their main source of data. With

said sources, responses can be analyzed quantitively giving a reliable result. Analyzation

and interpretation of results are also relatively easier once the results of the survey and

questionnaires are turned into quantitative data and into a visual graph.

Respondents

Respondents were chosen via Random Sampling Method. This method is

particularly useful as it prevents bias from occurring as the respondent population is

varied and comes from different context and background.

300 random passersby of Sto. Rosario, Angeles City, Pampanga participated in

the study. Students, adults, teenagers, and others were asked to fill-up the survey. Thus,

providing the proponents with the data provided below.
