AND
ACADEMIC RECOGNITION 2018

A day of celebration, and a day of recognition- that is Divine Word College of Calapan’s version of Buwan ng Wika.
This year, the celebration was held last August 30, 2018 at the DWCC Gymnasium, from 12:30 – 2:00 PM.

The program started with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the doxology led by the DWCC
Philharmonics, and the opening remarks of the institution’s president, Fr. Crispin A. Cordero, SVD.

Included in the first part of the program is the different presentations from the students of DWCC. The first one is
the folk dance number by the MAPEH students, followed by the lively and joyful song number of the DWCC Philharmonics. Allan
Andino, the Siglakasan 2018 Spoken Poetry Champion also performed one of his touching piece as a form of gratitude for
everyone who supported him in his feat.

But, one of the most exciting performances that afternoon was the band number of the Senior High School students.
They sang a medley of old OPM music and made everyone clap their hands because of awesomeness and joy. They made that
afternoon lively.

The second part of that afternoon program is the awarding of medals to the Dean’s Listers, which was led by Dr.
Aleli C. Dugan, CPA, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Fr. Isagani S. Lolo, SVD, Vice President for Administration; and Fr.
Crispin A. Cordero, SVD, School President.

 Escylene N. Lopez (Education Department)
 Loren Grace T. Guntan (Education Department)
 Maria Ferlin M. Andrin (Accountancy Department)
 Lester Antoni G. De Guzman (Accountancy Department)
 Lyra B. Caoli (Criminology Department)
 Karl Jiovanni A. Corona (Criminology Department)
Included in this year’s Dean’s Listers are two officers of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) – DWCC
Chapter: Maria Ferlin M. Andrin (President), and Lester Antoni G. De Guzman (Vice President for Academics).

Trisha R. Janda, the student from Education Department that got the highest grades among the awardees gave her
speech of acceptance as part of the program.

The program ended through the closing remarks of Dr. Dugan, and the singing of DWCC Hymn.
