Nama aktiviti Penerangan
A snowball fight A short ice-breaker activity which
encourages students to mingle and share
information about themselves.

Materials: Four sheets of blank paper per

student (preferably recycled paper).

Procedure:

 Say hello to students. Introduce

yourself and, as you do, write your
name on a sheet of paper and hold it
up for students to see. Do the same
with, for example, your age,
nationality and favourite music
group.
 Then hand out four sheets of paper
to each student and ask them to write
the same information on the four
sheets of paper, one item per sheet.
It doesn't have to be a complete
sentence.
 Then ask all students to hold up one
piece of paper and scrunch it up into
a ball. Do this with all four sheets.
 Now ask students to stand up and
divide them into two teams standing
at opposing ends of the classroom.
Tell them they are going to have a
snowball fight with the paper balls
they have just made.
 Tell students they have 10 seconds
to throw all the snowballs on their
side of the classroom at the other
group, but when you shout STOP
everyone must stop. Build up the
beginning of the game by counting
down from 3. Once they begin
throwing the balls begin counting
down from 10 and finally shout
STOP.
 Then ask students to pick up any four
snowballs that are, by now, scattered
over the floor, sit down and open
them up to see the information
inside.
 Once they have all done this, elicit
the questions they need to ask to
make another person in the class
give the answer they have on the
sheet e.g. 'What's your name?' for
the information 'Pepe'.
 Now tell students to mingle and find
the person who wrote the information
on the paper and write that person's
name on the paper.
 When all students have finished ask
them to tell the others what
information they found about other
people in the camp

Building Teams’ Poster & Slogan Procedure:

Once you’ve divided the students into
different teams, you can assign them a
colour or a theme.
Give the students a time limit and have them
create a poster for their team.
Have them come up with a team name and
a mascot which they have to put on their
poster.
After that, you can have the students come
up with a slogan, commercial, or short song
and dance to introduce their team to the rest
of the camp.
When the time limit is up and the groups are
finished creating their posters, you can have
each group introduce themselves.
As a fun bonus, you can have the students
wear bracelets or headbands that reflect
their team colour.

Human Scrabble Preparation & Materials:

Cards or paper and pens. Create “scrabble
letter cards.”

Procedure:
Once divided into groups, everyone gets a
card with a letter. Instructor yells
SCRABBLE! and the kids try to form a word
using their cards. The more of the letters you
can use the better. Groups can score points
by having the longest or most complex word.

Scavenger Hunt Preparation & Materials:

Scavenger Hunt Worksheet. Students must
have cameras/cell phone cameras.

Procedure:
Create a worksheet that has a list of items on
it that students must find.
Students must take a selfie with each of the
items on the scavenger list. Try to keep the
items on the list open-ended, as this will
require more critical thinking and will get the
students to delve deeper into the language.
Here are some examples:
1. Take a picture with something round.
2. Take a picture with someone whose name
begins with ‘J.’
3. Take a picture of something you can eat.

Whichever team can finish the list first, or

whichever team can get the most items, will
be the winning team. Be sure to have the
students explain each picture to you when
they come back, as this will increase the
communication practice.

Giant Snake & Ladder Materials:

Envelopes contain question, Giant Dice
and giant Snake and Ladder banner.

Procedure:
Player for each team puts their counter on
the space that says “start here”.
Player for each team take turns to roll the
dice.
In order to roll the dice, the player for each
need to select an envelope and answer the
question. If they answer the question
incorrectly, they will lost their turn.
Player move their counter forward the
number of spaces shown on the dice.
If the counter lands at the bottom of a ladder,
player can move up to the top of the ladder.
If the counter lands on the head of a snake,
player must slide down to the bottom of the
snake.
The first player to get to the space that
says”home/finish” is the winner.
Crazy Verb Relay Preparation & Materials:
Containers for paper slips. Open space.

Procedure:
Set up an area where students can race
against each other. Designate a clear finish
line. Have the students write down simple
action verbs (run, hop, skip, fly, crab-walk).
Then have them write down adverbs (slowly,
lazily, quickly, angrily, sadly). Put the
adverbs in one hat, and the actions in
another.
Two students will come up at a time. The
teacher will pull out a paper from each hat.
The students must race each other to the
finish line, but they can only move using the
verb and adverb that was pulled out of the
hat.
Charades Charades is a game of pantomimes: Player
have to "act out" a phrase without speaking,
the team members try to guess what the
phrase is. The team members must guess
the phrase as quickly as possible before time
runs out.

Materials:

Charades Cards or pieces of paper with

written phrases on, timer, container for each
of the teams to place their cards in, pen &
paper to keep score

Procedure:

 Two teams divided into equal players

 A time and score keeper is selected,
usually a person not taking part or else
one person from each team can take
turns.
 No words. No pointing at objects in a
room. No lip movements.
 Only "acting out" words or pantomiming
similar sounding words.
 Two teams play against each other and
divide an equal amount of charades cards
between them.
 A charade card with a phrase of Team 1 is
revealed to one person (the actor) of team
2 and kept secret from the rest of team 2,
team 2 must guess their actor's act.
 The team demonstrating the act choose
their actor, no actor may act more than
once until all team members had a chance
to be the actor.
 The actor has limited time (2-3 minutes) to
act out the phrase to his own team.
 Decide on a time frame within which
actors must complete their tasks before
play commence, this will stay the same
throughout the game.
 The actor can make any gestures to act
out the word.
 The teams alternate until each team
member had a chance to be the actor.
Tongue Twister All levels and ages enjoy tongue twisters.
They work well as a warm up to get
students speaking, and they help
students to practise pronouncing difficult
sounds in English.

Procedure:

Write some English tongue twisters on the

board or on pieces of paper to distribute to
students. Ask them to read the tongue
twisters aloud. Then faster. Then three times
in a row. Here are some examples:

o She sells sea shells on the sea shore

o A proper copper coffee pot
o Around the rugged rocks the ragged
rascal ran
o Red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow
lorry
o A big black bug bit a big black bear
o Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled
peppers, Where's the peck of pickled
peppers Peter Piper picked?

Now ask the students to have a go at

creating their own tongue twisters. This
activity is a variation of the famous
'Consequences' game. Write the
following questions on the board:

1. Write your first name

2. What did she/he do?
3. Where?
4. When?
5. Why? Because…

 Now give students the following

instructions:
o Get into teams of about 5 people.
o On a piece of blank paper write your
answer to question 1.
o Pass the paper to the person on your
right. Write an answer to question 2 on
the paper you have just received. Your
answer must begin with the first sound
in the person's name (e.g. Bob - bought
a bike).
o Pass the paper on again and write an
answer to question 3, again using the
sound at the beginning of the name.
o Continue until all the questions have
been answered.
o Pass the paper back to the person who
started with it. Read all of the tongue
twisters aloud.

 It might help if you give the students

some examples before they begin this
game:
o Bob bought a bike in Bali on his
birthday because he was bored
o Susan sang a song at the seaside on
the 6th of September because she
saw some sunshine
o Laura laughed in the laundrette at
lunchtime because she lost her
laundry
