Is there any peace on earth?

Peace?, there are so many definition about peace when I asked some people
around me, some of them said “peace is life without war or fighting” and others
said “peace is living without feeling scare” and the conclusion they are all true.
According to Wikipedia, Peace is the concept of harmony and the absence of
hostility. In a behavioral sense, peace is generally understood to be a lack of
conflict and freedom from fear of violence between heterogenous social groups.
As I write these words, it seems unfair when I see the situation of the world
today. We can see so many inhuman and injustice activities around the world
that prove humanity, peace and justice is just a word and never practiced. For
example In Syria, the government destroyed the Ghouta until so many people
died: women, kids, babies, animals and many more and other examples is a
photo of a skinny kid with the background of carnivorous birds that was taken
by Kevin Carter.

Sometimes we only thinking about how to get success in our “personal
bussiness project” without thinking its effects to others. We are too greedy,
egoistic, and really proud of what we have, as if we will live forever.

People are born to get happiness, love and peace, but how can we achieve it?
First of all let’s start from our soul and then to our family, friends, neighbours,
and so on. We must create peace for our next generation and it’s our
responsbility. We can spread peace in many ways, example by joining a
community or group that campaign about peace.

Peace has big influence for our dreams in the future and our dreams will never
come to fruition if peace doen’t become a reality. Peace not only about no war,
no violance and many more but it is more than that. Peace is a culture and a way
of life that influence all aspects in our life.

I want to say a few words about my country. Indonesia is the fourth-largest

country in terms of population size. Its ethnic composition is characterized by
variety, in fact wide variety, as the country contains hundreds of different ethnic
groups and cultures. Eventhough Indonesia consist of many cultures, many
ethnics, and religions, people there live in harmony, there is no big war until
killing so many people. Smiling is one of our cultures and smiling is a kind of
peace.

Indonesia is one of the friendliest countries in the world and I hope all countries
can be like that. I dream of the day of peace when all people smile together and
help one another.
