Question 1
Sekumpulan pelajar telah menjalankan satu eksperimen bagi mengkaji kesan kepekatan enzim
ke atas tindakbalas enzim.
A group of students carried out an experiment to investigate the effect of enzyme concentration
on the rate of enzyme reaction.
Jadual 1 menunjukkan persediaan kepekatan enzim amylase dan isipadu ampaian kaji.
Table 1 shows the preparation of the amylase enzyme concentration and the volume of starch
suspensions.

Semua tabung uji direndam ke dalam kukus air bersuhu 37C. Dengan menggunakan penititis,
sedikit campuran dikeluarkan dan dititiskan ke atas iodinepada jubin putih dengan segera. Jam
randik dimulakan. Perubahan warna pada iodine diperhatikan sehinggan tiada lagi perubahan
warna larutan iodin pada sela masa 1 minit. Masa yang diambil apabila campuran tidak lagi
mengubah warna iodin direkodkan berdasarkan Rajah 1.
All of the test tubes are immersed in the water bath with temperature at 37C. By using a dropper,
small amount of the mixture is withdrawn and added to a drop of iodine on the white tile
immediately. The stopwatch is started. The colour changes in iodine solution are observed. Time
taken when the mixture no longer changes the colour of iodine is recorded based on Figure 1.

Question 2
Osmosis adalah pergerakan molekul air merentasi membran plasma sel. Pergerakan air
bergantung kepada kepekatan larutan di luar dan dalam sel. Pergerakan ini memberi kesan yang
berbeza ke atas sel tumbuhan dan haiwan.
Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across the plasma membrane of a cell. Movement
of water depends on the concentration of solutions outside and inside the cell. This movement
gives different effects on plant cells and animal cells.
Berdasarkan pernyataan di atas, reka bentuk satu eksperimen bagi menentukan kepekatan
larutan sukrosa yang isotonik terhadap sap sel pada sel kentang.
Based on the above statement, design an experiment to determine the concentration of the
sucrose solution which is isotonic to the cell sap of the potato cell.
