II. RATIONALE
Flexible learning is a state of being in which learning and
teaching is increasingly freed from the limitations of the time,
place and pace of study. But this kind of flexibility does not end

there. For learners, flexibility in learning may include choices in

relation to entry and exit points, selection of learning activities,
assessment tasks and educational resources in return for

different kinds of credit and costs. And for the teachers it can
involve choices in relation to the allocation of their time and the

mode and methods of communication with learners as well as

the educational institution.

As such flexible learning, in itself, is not a mode of study.

It is a value principle, like diversity or equality are in education
and society more broadly. Flexibility in learning and teaching is

relevant in any mode of study including campus-based face-to-

face education.
III. Log Experience
I never trekked before. To be honest, I never
URBAN TREKKING even climbed a tree in my life. Although I love
adventure video games, Even thought about
going to an adventure myself.

flexible learning is defined to be about pace,

FLEXIBLE LEARNING place and mode of learning, and the term
ACTIVITY ‘flexible learning’ is introduced to be “about
enabling choices and responsiveness in the
pace, place and mode of learning.”
IV. INSIGHTS AND
REFLECTION
One of the greatest ways to enjoy the outdoors is hiking.

Trails can take you through beautiful areas and can showcase

the most spectacular views. Trekking provides time for

reflection and can be very relaxing. Walking is good exercise

and is a good way for families to spend quality time. Learning

and sharing along the way makes for a very enjoyable outing.

Day trekking is most popular and offers a wide choice in trail

length, difficulty and destinations. Overnight backpacking can

be quite challenging and requires more extensive planning and

preparation. On the trekking itself, you can expect to eventually

wear out. For even the most zealous starters, there will come a
point where fatigue and muscle failure takes hold. Don’t be

frazzled by it, as it’s a familiar feeling to many avid trekkers. By

taking it slow and allowing yourself to fully appreciate the
experience, you’ll really improve the quality of your hikes.
