34-05 Simple Lathe Project - 1 of 4

This four part project is designed for the beginners, to illustrate the development of a small part, using common
operations used on CNC lathes. Each project uses a separate drawing, but the next project is always a continuation
of the previous project. This is Part 1 of the four parts.

ò Objective - Part 1 of 4 - initial operations:

FACE, CHAMFER and PART OFF

ò To develop the part program, follow these conditions:

1. Use T03 to face and turn the part as shown in the drawing

2. Use only one cut for facing, one for chamfering, and one for diameter turning

3. Use tool nose radius offset for all contouring

4. Use T05 for part-off with 0.125 wide insert

5. Use speeds and feeds for aluminum
