Course Title : Physical Fitness (Kali/Eskrima/Arnis)

Course Description : This course immerse students on physical activity that will develop their muscular endurance,
flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, focus, balance, and strength with emphasis on psychosomatic discipline through the
practice of the Filipino martial art called Arnis. It covers the historical background and the basic principles of the art
including holds, stances, footwork, 12 basic strikes, and blocking. Diligent practice of the basics improves body mechanics
thus helping achieve maximum efficiency when performing daily activities while preventing physical stress and injury.
Moreover, involvement on the subject does not only contribute to the students’ physical fitness but also provides the
opportunity to enhance self-defence repertoire and appreciation on local culture.

III. Course Requirements:

Students are required to wear complete P.E uniform during P.E classes.
A pair of rattan or kamagong canes for each student with a length of 27 to 28 inches is required during
the class.

IV. Course Assessment:

As per standard grading system, thoroughly discussed during orientation meeting;

Aside from academic deficiency, other grounds for failing grade are:

 Grave misconduct and/ or cheating during examinations


 Unexcused absences of more than 20% of required number of meetings per term
 Unexpected absences of more than 20% of required number of meetings per term
 A failing academic standing and failure to take grade exams.

Course Title : Environmental Health

Course Description :

This course will cover factors associated with the development of environmental health problems. It provides an
understanding of the interaction of individuals and communities with the environment, the potential impact on health
environmental agents, and specific applications of concepts of environmental health. It is also concerned with how both
the natural and built environment affect human health by looking at the impact of physical, chemical, and biological
factors external to humans.
