Grizzly Pride Project

Every baseball season myself and everyone who watches the baseball games, see that the
hitting net and and hitting area aren’t up to date. Every time someone sees that it reflects on the
baseball team. How would you feel if every game you had fewer and fewer people showed up,
maybe because how your field looked. That would make me feel horrible and want to change it.
Especially when you have to play on it every day of the season.

Because of this Tyler Wells, Jackson Laird, Carson Ladue and myself are going to
change that. We are going to replace and fix the turf around the batting cage and fix the nets on
the batting cage. This will not only make the field look better but we believe it will also bring
more people out to the games. Doing this will improve the attitudes of the baseball players,
which will change their mind set during practices. Doing this project it will set a standard for the
future baseball players at Copper Hills High School, not only showing that the players care but
also the people who are supporting this care about this program.

In order to accomplish this project we will need to permission from coach Sundquist, Ms.
Tibbitts. We will be supervised by some of the coaches to ensure the job we are doing is meeting
the requirements for them. This project will meet the standards of Ms. Tibbitts requirement of
time and labor. Our goal is to finish the turf and the cage at the end of February, early March.
The steps that we will take will be listed below
● Buy the glue/adhesive for the turf
● Clear the area of old material
● Put turf down for fitting/cut turf to match
● Glue down material to the fitted area
● Pull nets out
● Place straps where needed on the cage
● Set up nets
This whole process should take around 6-7 hours if everyone participates and helps to
finish the project on time.
This project should roughly cost each person in the group $25-$35, the rest of the
material is going to be provided from old and already used resources that were used when they
first built the cage and laid the turf.

Our goal is to have attention brought to the baseball team and field. To bring more people
out to support and maybe play for the future team of Copper Hills.
