Daily Writing #7

Definition of Peer Review: Evaluation of a person’s work or performance by a group of people in

the same occupation, profession, or industry.
In high school, I had to take an English class every year. I wasn’t confident in my writing
skills, so I took the Honors English course instead of the AP English course. In my senior year
English course, my classmates and I wrote many papers that had to eventually be peer edited by
another student before turning in the assignment. In this class I did not have the best peer editing
experience because many of my classmates were “ready to graduate” and did not put much effort
into their work, meaning they did not put much effort in editing my papers. They would skim
through it and make very vague comments and one or two edits towards my paper that I could
have easily fixed beforehand. This did not help me at all, which resulted in a lower grade than
the grade I wanted to receive.
