Daily Writing #10

Don’t ask who your audience is…you are the audience: “You are writing primarily to
please yourself, and if you go about it with enjoyment you will also entertain the readers who are
worth writing for.”

This quote best refers to me because as a young writer I always seem to get nervous about what
other people are going to think about my writing. Sometimes I would get so nervous that I would
doubt my abilities. When I did this, I realized it made writing not so much fun for me, so I knew
I had to make a change. I shouldn’t care what others think about me. When I started to not care, I
got into a flow of writing that I have never experienced before. Even though my stories may be
different than others, I realized that everyone has different experiences and I wanted everybody
to see the world in my perspective.
