In order to find a chunk of my information for my short inquiry project, I had to visit the
library to find some reliable sources that support the Battle of Okinawa. About a week later from
conversation about the battle. They accepted and we discussed numerous facts and views about
the battles, mainly discussing how it affected the United States as a whole. The conversation
took place in our living area in our dorm room. I felt that this conversation was helpful towards
my project because when war comes to mind, many different perspectives can be introduced.
Some questions that I asked during our conversation were “Do you think this affected the U.S. in
a positive or negative way?”, “When you hear about the Battle of Okinawa, what is the first thing
that pops up in your head?”, and “Were you surprised about the outcome of the battle?”. After
asking these questions to my roommates, they all agreed with one another when they said that
they thought the Battle of Okinawa created a positive effect on the United States as a whole.
They said that because of this war, the United States contributed to an allied victory in World

knew this because I researched the outcome of this battle and realized how many American
casualties there were compared to Japanese casualties. Even though the information from this
conversation did not surprise me, I realized that I should probably research about different
perspectives about this particular battle because I feel like there could be some negatives to this
