RE: Demetrius Bates

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter to recommend to you Demetrius Bates. I have known Demetrius for seven months and
have had the pleasure of interacting with him as his Government/Economics teacher. He is a very honest,
hardworking, and active young man.

While at Merced High School Demetrius has maintain a 3.1 grade point average and has a career goal of
attending a four-year university and obtaining his bachelor's degree in computer engineering

Demetrius is a fine young man, very polite and respectful. He is always on time to class and ready to work when
class begins. He is very conscientious about his studies and is never late on his assignments. He has an excellent
attendance record as well, rarely missing school. Over the years at Merced High Demetrius has been very
involved in school activities, being a member of the Track team all four years in school. He was awarded the
MVP two times back to back for athletics and also made the school’s Honor Roll this year with a 3.8 grade point
average.

Outside of school Demetrius is also involved in community life. He attends church regularly where he is the bass
player at his church, and has done over 267 hours of volunteer work at the Boys and Girls Club during the
summer.

I am very glad to recommend to you Demetrius Bates. He exemplifies what it means to be Bear STRONG. He is
a fine student who has great potential in life. I am sure he will continue to do well and someday achieve all the
goals he has set for himself. He is an outstanding young man.

Respectfully,
