Overall Course Design, Flow, and Theme
We decided during the field trip to do an environmental theme with three holes
being arctic themed, three being desert themed, and three being jungle themed.
We decided to have each person do one environment in order to allow the hole
designers to have more autonomy in making their holes, as they could set all the
standards for their environment. The central feature was a “world tree” of sorts and
was the center of the course. We ended up choosing this course design because it
was simple, but also allowed for different opportunities for the hole designers to
make their holes unique. Customers would first buy equipment at the pro shop and
then proceed to their left to the first hole. As the players would play through the
holes, they would be able to see the world tree at all times no matter which
environment they were in.
Full Assembly
In most biomes around the world, there is a
commonality, a tree. The tree is the central feature
in the mini golf course. The central feature also
doubles as a
A tee off pad is essential for a mini golf course
because it helps to keep the ball in place when you
start off. It also ensures that people start at the
same spot.
The scoring podium is used to help keep
score as you go along the golf course. The
podium has the texture of sand. The desert
is one of the biggest biomes in the world.
The sand is supposed to represent the
desert biome.
Hole 1
Hole one includes 2 icebergs that
bounce the ball in different
directions. It also has a lake which
makes the player play more

the water

used to bounce the ball in a different
direction. There is also a polar bear
that tries to block the ball. This hole is

Hole 3 includes many penguins
that attempt to block the ball.

Hole 4
Hole 4 is a par 2. It is a very basic hole. Payers
will start on the tee off pad and try to ricoshay off
of a wall in the corner and make it to the hole.
Hole 5
Hole 5 is a par 3. Players will start on the tee off
pad and try to hit a big wall in the middle of the
hole. Then go down into the corner by the whole.
Or if they want to take a risk they can try to dodge
the sand pit. This whole has huge pyramids.
Hole 6
Hole 6 is a par 3. For this hole players will try to
make it in between the sand pit and the wall. Or they
can bounce it off the wall, into the corner, then try to
get to the hole from there.

Project Reflection
Our team norms were followed by everyone, being on task, filling out the
progress log, but we did not meet one team norm which was finish everything
on time. We were unable to have a final assembly because some group
members did not upload all/any of their holes to the team folder, so our project
manager could not finish the project. It was very difficult for us to handle the
time constraints for finishing everything on time. This was partly due to the
fact that our three hole designers were all sick during some part of the project.
We decided to go with our project manager’s design for the golf course, but
we had a few arcs that were lacking dimensions, so we had to ask our project
manager what it should be, and we had a bit of a lapse in communication as
we commented on the document what it should be rather than emailing like
we said we would.
