I. VISION

IV. BSIT PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Graduates of BSIT program are individuals who can:

1. Apply knowledge of computing, science, and mathematics appropriate to the discipline


2. Understand best practices and standards and their applications
3. Analyze complex problems, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution
4. Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and administration of computer-based systems
5. Design, implement and evaluate computer-based systems, processes, components, or programs to meet desired needs and requirements under various
constraints
6. Integrate IT-based solutions into the user environment effectively
7. Apply knowledge through the use of current techniques, skills, tools and practices necessary for the IT profession
8. Function effectively as a member or leader of a development team recognizing the different roles within a team to accomplish a common goal
9. Assist in the creation of an effective IT project team
10. Communicate effectively with the computing community and with society at large about complex computing activities through logical writing, presentations,
and clear instructions

V. Course Description:

This course include in-depth introduction to Microsoft office particularly in Word and Excel. Its goal is to expose practical example of a computer as a
useful tool, to discover the underlying functionality of Microsoft office to become more productive. This course introduces the basic features of Microsoft Office,
Windows basics, and file management and develops familiarity with Word and Excel. This course introduces students to the word processing cycle and how word
processing is used in the work place. This course is for anyone who needs to prepare their own business documents. Students will use the Microsoft Office Word
application to create and edit business documents, enhance page layout, create tables, create reports, create columns, and create form letters and merge with a
mailing list. Other topics covered include: styles, templates, mailing labels, drawing objects, graphics, and WordArt.

Upon completion of this course, students are expected to have the ability to:

 Recognize when to use each of the Microsoft Office programs to create professional business documents.

 Use Microsoft Office programs to create personal and/or business documents following current professional and/or industry standards.

 Pursue future courses specializing in one or more of the programs.

 Apply skills and concepts for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet in the workplace and in future coursework
