Apple galette (French) per pair

For the pie crust


1 cup flour
2 tsp sugar
½ tsp salt
50g cold butter cubed
¼ cup ice cold water

For the filling


1 medium apple
20g butter melted
2T sugar
½ tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp lemon juice

To create the pie crust:


1. Sieve the flour and salt and mix in the sugar
2. Rub in the butter until you get a crumbly mixture
3. Slowly add the water 1 tsp at a time as you stir with a wooden spoon until the dough
forms.
4. If you can chill the dough for 30 minutes rolled in glad wrap

To prepare the filling:


1. Quarter the apple, remove core and slice into thin wedges
2. Measure the sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice in a bowl
3. Add the sugar mix to the melted butter

To assemble the pie:


1. Roll out the dough until its about a 12 inch circle
2. Place the dough onto baking paper and tray
3. Pile the apples onto the centre
4. Brush with the spiced butter mix
5. Fold the excess dough over the filling in towards the centre.
6. Sprinkle with 1 T of extra sugar

Bake the pie


1. Preheat oven to 200c
2. Place baking tray near the middle
3. Bake approx. 20 mins until golden
