Position Title Graduate Geotechnical Engineer

Role Purpose The Geotechnical Engineer provides the report for costumer remotely
from the Geotechnical Support Services office in Balikpapan.

Supervises Directly Nil

• Business Units – Business Managers, Sales Managers, Technical
Managers, Service Managers, Training Managers, Technical
Specialists.

Key Accountabilities • Work safely, and with regard to the safety of others, including:
o Compliance with all OH&S policies and procedures
o Actively work to improve safety in the workplace
• Generate revenue from Geotechnical support services (reporting
project).
• Help maintaining an information database on wall failure data
captured by GroundProbe’s SSR technology and the associated
geotechnical information. Provide a live record of wall failures.
• Encourage and promote the use of GroundProbe’s products and
services
• Ensure optimal use of SSR systems through provision of education
and guidance to GroundProbe staff and existing clients
• Undertake geotechnical based research under the direction of the
Product development team.
• Gather feedback from customers in order to help the development of
new systems, technologies, features, etc.

Assets Controlled by Wall failure database. Laptop and associated IT items.

geotechnical and operations staff

 Position Description

Qualifications Mandatory:
• Geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, mining engineering or
engineering geology degree (Postgraduate education would be well
considered)
• Advanced computer skills
• Advanced English writing
Desirable:
• Good communication skills including presentation and
documentation skills
• Geotechnical / Engineering Geology skills including the:
o Ability to analyse geotechnical data captured by
GroundProbe products and complimentary technologies
used at client sites
o Follow standard use of risk management techniques for
dealing with hazards associated with unstable rock slopes

Experience Fresh graduate with final thesis related with Rock mechanics.
Demonstrated direct geotechnical experience with the SSR Technology
would be well considered.
