I. COMMUNITY BACKGROUND
General Roxas Elementary School stands on a 11,000 meter rolling parcel of land right on
the heart of Barangay Roxas two blocks away east of the Amoranto Stadium, adjoining the
Barangay Health Center, Barangay Hall and the Holy Family Church.
It is surrounded by a concrete perimeter fence two meter in height. It enclosed by Madre
Silva St. on the North, Lilac St. on the South and on the East by Jasmin St. where the main gate is
located.
General Roxas was established last 1949, offering primary level. On 1954-1955 the first
batch of Grade VI graduated on this school, from then on it became a full pledge public elementary
school of Quezon City.
In 1977, a special class for the mentally gifted/ fast learners was organized by Mrs. Teresa
P. Mantala, the General Roxas Elementary School SPED Coordinator. In 1983 Mrs. Marilyn O.
Lingayo organized a special class for the Mentally Retarded. The special class for the Visually-
impaired was organized in 1994 by Mrs. Leonar B. Belisario. On the following year, Hearing –
Impaired class was organized by Mr. Praxedes C. Adeva. Another teacher with a big heart for
children with special needs came and she is Mrs. Antonieta R. Casamorin, she organized a class
for Intellectual Disabilities catering different ages. At present the schools caters children with
special needs and continue to address the different exceptionalities so they will become a fully
functional person in the community.
General Roxas Elementary school consists of 75 teaching and 10 non-teaching
personnel. It has a total population of 2995 students.

II. TARGET RECIPIENT

The target recipients or beneficiary of this project are the students, teachers and all school
personnel of Gen. Roxas Elementary School, Roxas District, Quezon City.

III. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The project primarily focus in providing the funds needed in purchasing Megaphones for
DRRMC Earthquake Drill, Weighing Scales, First Aid Kit & Electric Blood Monitor for school
clinic, Printers, and School supplies for indigent pupils. Another project is to give a seminar or
orientation about basic rescue and first aid information to teachers and school staff.

1
Since the project costs much higher than the required amount, all NSTP2 groups of LO1
& LO2 sections are also participating in this project. The funds for the project needed will be
shared by two (2) sections.

This program is also an avenue for the NSTP2 students to be aware in varied types of
community project aside from the usual literacy, clean & green program, livelihood program,
sports and recreation, health and the like. Additionally, students would have a privilege to help by
producing their own means and not the usual way of just getting a contribution. This will also help
in knowing the students’ full potential in community services.

IV. OBJECTIVES
 To acquire the required number (35) of hours;
 To be able to raise funds for the project amounting to P7,000, to purchase
megaphones, weighing scales & electric blood monitor for school clinic, printers,
and school supplies;
 To document the project during fund raising;
 To develop skills in the field of entrepreneurship;
 To prepare for the upcoming panel discussion about the project.

V. SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT

The project aims to help the public elementary school by donating school equipment and
supplies. The project is limited only to Gen. Roxas Elementary School, Roxas District, Quezon
City.

The group will focus on raising money by means of selling lanyards to complete the said
project. The project limits itself only to provide equipment and school supplies.

2
VI. SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT
The group intends to be of help to the financially challenged students of Gen, Roxas
Elementary School. By raising sufficient fund, the Team Tambays will have a privilege to give
assistance in terms of donating school equipment and supplies for a better school environment.
Furthermore, this project will also be beneficial to the Team because it will push them to know
their full potentials in the field of entrepreneurship. The team will also develop camaraderie in
putting their efforts together to come with the best results that they can achieve. And lastly, this
would continue the legacy of FEU Technology’s NSTP unit; teaching students the skills they need
to help those in need in any way they can.

VII. METHODOLOGY
This project proposal has an objective to raise a fund amounting ₱ 7,000 in span of 6 weeks
through selling of Drawstring bags. The string bag print design varies on the availability from the
supplier while the design. Each member will be designated on various committee to ensure the
smooth flow of the project from planning up to completion. Then, the fund raised will be used to
contribute materials to help the target recipients to improve the overall learning experience of the
students. In addition, the group hope that during the project will provide us with a rich learning
experience that immerses in the qualities of an effective individual as well as to help us foster
camaraderie among other people.

Information Gathering
Prior to the proper group planning, NSTP Trainor Mr. Duque, Mr. Santos together with
Ms. Agustin conducted a brief discussion on how the group should start the project. They also
explained the importance of having a community-based project on places that need to be addressed.
In group’s case, the assigned beneficiary is General Roxas Elementary School which is situated
on the heart of Barangay Roxas two blocks away east of the Amoranto Stadium, Quezon City

Planning
In order to help the chosen beneficiary, the group decided to raise money by selling and
drawstring bags. The group aims to earn an amount of at least P 7000 that will be used to buy

3
necessary materials that will be given to the school. Group meetings are scheduled for the
following days in order to further discuss the implementation of project.
In addition, there will be a so-called group resolution, in which requires the signature of
each members to be valid, that serves as documentation that each members agrees on the decision
that the group choose to execute.

Implementation
For the implementation of the project, the details below will serve as a guide in order for
the group to achieve an amount of P 7,000 or more in span of six weeks.

IX. RESULTS
Upon the execution of this project, our group initially devised a project proposal to the
adviser and faculty of FEU-IT NSTP regarding our group’s plan on fund raising activity. As what
had been finalized and accepted, our group was set to re-sell drawstring bags in order to complete
an expected net income of ₱7000. Hence in order to execute this smart project, each member of
our group have decided to give an initial contribution so that there will be an initial fund upon
purchase of string bags. After we have bought all the string bags from the supplier, we officially
begin our fund raising activity wherein we sell each bag with a price of ₱160. In addition, all
members of our team collaboratively sell these string bags so that we can earn buyers faster. The
re-sell activity of our group went well since we were able to acquire customers and the string bags

5
also have variety of designs which we think attracts our customers. Within the given time span of
six (6) weeks, we already garnered an amount of ₱ 5,665. Thus, in order to comply with the ₱7000
net profit, we have all agreed to have an equal individual contribution so that we can fulfill the
remaining ₱1,335. At the end, we were able to complete the exact ₱7000 which was allotted for
the outreaching project of our NSTP class.
On the 8th day of June, our professor has told the whole class to submit all gathered funds
to the faculty of NSTP so that they are the one who will handed the purchase of all necessary
equipment and things for the project. By the 23rd day of June, all teams in L01 and L02 class have
go to the General Roxas Elementary School in Quezon City for the final stage of the project which
is a program donating all the equipment and necessities to the students, faculties, and all personnel
of the General Roxas Elementary School. To summarized, the entire project “Tulong para sa mga
Pampublikong Paaralan” became successful with the help of the FEU institute of Technology
NSTP faculty and also all the teams of L01 and L02 class.

X. SUMMARY

The NSTP 2 of FEU – Institute of Technology is focused on helping the needy community
in a unique way. Unlike the general perception about the said subject, in which requires the student
to clean a certain community by just brooming, the FEUIT-NSTP opted to train its students on
how to successfully raise funds in order to donate necessary materials and equipments for a certain
needy community. General Roxas Elementary School located at Roxas District, Quezon City was
chosen as the beneficiary. The target was to provide funds needed in purchasing Megaphones for
DRRMC Earthquake Drill, Weighing Scales, First Aid Kit & Electric Blood Monitor for school
clinic, Printers, and School supplies for indigent pupils. In addition, another project is to give a
seminar or orientation about basic rescue and first aid information to teachers and school staff.
As a result, the group devised a plan on how they would raise a fund in order to contribute
to the project. Our group agreed to re-sell drawstring bags in order to complete an expected net
income of ₱7000. Hence in order to execute this project, each member of our group have decided
to give an initial contribution so that there will be an initial fund upon purchase of string bags. The
group was able to sell 78 pieces of string bags but the accumulated profit for it was not enough to

6
reach their target amount. In that case, the group agreed to divide the remaining value to each of
them to complete the said the target amount.
Altogether, selling a drawstring bag was not an easy task unlike the other products.
Implementing a fund raising project was tough but, at the same time, fulfilling. The group helped
one another in order to properly execute their plans in order to earn an amount of 7,000. Through
the guidance of our supportive NSTP Trainors – Mr. Duque, Mr. Santos and especially Ms.
Agustin, each member realized the importance of conducting of such activity that promotes
camaraderie and sense of commitment in helping the needy community.

XI. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

To conclude the whole term of this NSTP2 course:

 Gathering the necessary amount for the implementation of the fund raising projec for the
community/school or the amount necessary to afford the targeted item to be donated to the
community/school is a difficult task for there were already numerous existing established
businesses that surround the area. That is why it is highly recommended that before
deciding on what type of business is to be used, the group should consider or think of other
means of gathering the amount needed for there could be a time that the chosen business
might not work. A back up business plan is essential.

 It is highly recommended that the participating members of the group are to know each
other’s strengths and weaknesses when it comes to socialization, in order for the group to
work efficiently in acquiring the amount needed in the targeted time. Team work is must.
Not only to get the job done but also to strengthen the bond of each member and to
appreciate and to know the importance of camaraderie.

 The students would like to recommend that since the money is for the kids, all the students
must be required to join the giving of school supplies for them to truly understand what
it's like to make someone happy.

7
 The students would like to recommend that since this NSTP project is given before the
class starts and is needed to pass all the documents in the finals, the students would like to
suggest to plan ahead of time and execute the plan as soon as possible because this activity
is time consuming and requires a lot of efforts.

XII. INDIVIDUAL OUTPUT / LEARNING

Arenas, King Lenard R.:
NSTP 2 during this trimester was quite challenging and stressful for me. Challenging
because I am not patient person and I am not that good when it comes to promoting our product
(String Bag). Stressful because not all the people I know was interested in our product (String Bag)
so I think of a win-win situation to get the interest of my costumers. At the end, I accomplished
the task by selling 31 string bags and earn Php 2357. In this course I learned that you must have
analytical skills, a decision-making ability and a go-getter attitude. You must possess virtues like
integrity, dedication, fairness, and an open mind to greet new ideas and innovate.
Baes, Earl Adrian D.:
As I expected NSTP 2 is much harder than NSTP 1 were we just go in our barangay and
ask or interview the assigned personnel at the barangay. This NSTP 2 is very challenging for me
because we need to gain a fund that worth P7,000.00 for us to pass this subject. In the beginning
our group had a meeting and we exchanges our opinion on how we can collect a fund, our suggest
that we sell string bags and all of us agrees. I need to sell a total of 7 string bags at first it is hard
for me to think on how I will promote our product and suddenly I have got an idea, so I messaged
may Auntie and offer it to her and she agree to buy it all. In this course I learned that the more
strategy I think the easier to finish a specific task.
Chua, Josef Alexander A.:
Before I entered college I already had a clue about NSTP because of my siblings. They told
me numerous stories about how they were able to help the community in different ways like
planting and cleaning the community. Now, as I am one of the batch who are given the opportunity
to help the community, I am really happy not only because I was able to help but also I have
learned a lot. Learned a lot in such way that I learned how to socialize more through selling for
funding the project for the school. It was really nice being able to help even a little. It strengthens
the camaraderie in us.

8
Forte, Denizze P.:
For me NSTP is very beneficial to us students because it promote the youth to help the
nation. At first it's hard for us to have funds but later on as we go through with NSTP we decided
to sold String bags. It's difficult to sell it but in the end we sold all the bags. I'm happy because all
our difficulties for NSTP are subsidized and we got to help children who are in need.
Ignacio, Annika Joy N.:
Honestly, NSTP 2 makes me feel excited, knowing that Sir A would be our professor, but
due to some circumstances it turns out that Sir Jeffrey Santos would be our professor in our block.
Because I believe that there will be a big impact to the group whoever will guide them throughout
the term. NSTP 2 is very different compared to NSTP 1, wherein this time we’re going to use our
social, marketing, and other skills in order to make a profit that would be used to buy gifts for the
kids of Gen. Roxas Elementary School. My heart is so full in helping people, there is a fulfilling
feeling within me, that assures me that my hard work will paid off afterwards. NSTP 2 challenged
us on how can we help these kids just merely doing works by ourselves, it may be hard to think of
ways but there are so so many ways in order to gain money and reach the amount needed to. What
we did for fundraising was selling of drawstring bags which has a design of bible verses, buying
this bags cannot just help the kids but also they can be inspired when they looked at it. In this time,
I value more the saying, “It is better to give, then to receive” and believe more in the verse in the
bible saying, “Give and it shall be given unto…” Therefore, NSTP 2 is more than a requirement,
it opens up our minds and hearts the essence of helping others through sacrificing and doing some
efforts. I am so thankful that I had experienced this kind of activity and had reached out the kids
together with their parents in Gen. Roxas Elementary School.
Kilakiga, Kenneth T.:
As the leader of this group, the first challenge that I have encountered was to determine
what product we should sell in order to reach the required amount to be donated. The criteria that
I want for the product was that it will not demand a large amount of time to create because the
available schedule for each member is limited due to academic requirements. Thus, I have
recommended the method of buy and sell of a certain product so that it would not require plenty
of time just to manufacture. We just have to find a good product then resell it in higher value. Now
that we have already an idea, the first challenge was still not addressed, what product should we
buy and sell? Few days past and we still do not have anything to sell until one day, my siblings

9
invited me to drive them in Taytay Tiangge to buy some clothes. While strolling in the hallways
of the tiangge, the display of string bags have caught my attention. I asked the seller on how much
the string bags would cost if bought by bulk and learned that it only cost 85 per piece. I immediately
get their contact details and messaged our group regarding the product. The following weeks, we
returned back twice to Taytay to procure a total amount of 78 string bags.
Our selling of the products went smooth because each member was only required to sell
their assigned number of bags. When they completed selling it, their part is done. What I have
learned the most in this project is that earning money is no joke especially when you are starting a
business. Thus, we should be careful where to spend it and appreciate the effort of our parents just
to provide for us. The materials given to the community of General Roxas Elementary School are
the fruits of the urge of all students of FEUIT-NSTP 2 to help them wholeheartedly.
Villanueva, Aceriel B.:
First of all, I knew that NSTP 2 will be different from NSTP 1 in a sense that it would be
more on actual implementation of outreaching projects and such. Right from the start, our
instructor already oriented us on what will actually happen on our NSTP 2 subject for the entire
semester. It was also stated that the whole class must be divided into teams so that there will be a
collaboration among each members and also more funds will be collected. The projects and
solutions that we have proposed on our previous Community Assessment (or DANICA) will
served as our sole guide and foundation for the execution of our own outreaching activities. Our
instructor also introduced us in the varieties of ways on how to source out funds or what we call
as “Fund-Raising Activities.” With these, we gained an idea that in order for us to achieve our
main goal, we must first have funds so that we can able to buy all the necessities and things that
we will be donating on our outreaching project.
Through collaborations and series of meetings, our team have reached a very unique idea
that through reselling drawstring bags with religious theme and variety of designs we can able to
source out the expected funds by the end of the fund raising activity. Based on what I have
observed in our team, I can see that each and every member of the group have that enthusiastic
and willingness attitude to achieve our main goal of helping those who are in need. Thus, when
our instructors said that we our assigned to help the children from Gen. Roxas Elementary School
in QC, we felt excitement and also gained motivation since all of our efforts will not just paid off
but also we help these young people in their journey as a students.

10
As we have completed the funds needed for the project, we proudly donated it to the NSTP
faculty because we all know that these funds will be used to buy all the equipment and necessities
needed for the students and school personnel of Gen. Roxas Elem. School. On the actual day of
the program, I felt happy and at the same time a fulfilment for each of us seeing the smiles of all
those children in the pictures receiving their school supplies and such. As a completion, I have
learned that this NSTP class is not just a requirement because it is really a subject with a purpose
and that purpose is to offer help to those who are in need. A generous act of simply giving help to
these young people also inspired them to do the same for the next and future generations. With
these, I can say that our country still has its hope if every one of us will help each other out. That’s
the essence of National Service Training Program.
Wong, Jake Carlo G.:
NSTP 2 for me at first is just a waste of time. But as the time goes by, I realize the true
meaning of giving to those in need. Although it’s hard to sell things, we manage to sell it all out
with perseverance and all-out effort to achieve our goal. This NSTP for me is a good way or good
activity to build your sense of responsibility, being responsible for any task no matter how hard it
is or what you’re up against. I know these things will help us grow as a person and as an individual
person for the betterment of all setting as an example for future generations.
