Opening Activity/ies:
1. The teacher will introduce herself. She will also inform the students about their requirements, grading system, PT for
the quarter.
Main Activity:
1. After the getting to know stage, the teacher will flash the question, “ Is Math important? Why or why not?” and the
1 teachers will process their answers.
2. The teacher will also ask the students to cite instances in their everyday living where Mathematics is present.
3. The teacher will give the course outline for the quarter and explain that it will also serve as its checklist.
Closing Activity:
1. At the end of the lesson, the students should realize that all of the topics in Mathematics are useful in our everyday
lives because Mathematics is everywhere.
Opening Activity/ies:
1. The teacher will be presenting 4 different kinds of figures combined by smaller cubes in a PowerPoint Presentation.
2. The teacher will be asking the pupils about their observation within the different kinds of figures and let them explain
the symbolism of these cubes.
3. Next, the teacher will present the play money and the play money coins with 1, 10, 100, and 1000. Then, ask them
the differences of each.
4. Lastly, the teacher will ask the question, “ Can we have 1, 000, 000 pcs of cubes if we do not have the idea of this 1
cube?”
Main Activities:
1. The teacher will present the play money and let the students visualize, how many bundles of Php 100 with 100 pcs for
2 each bundle, can we make to have a million?
2. The students will not be guided to show and explain in front the number of cubes to make a thousand, a hundred, a
million and ten million.
3. Concepts of values will be explain and the Place Value chart will be presented with a short recapitulation of their previous
knowledge about place value.
4. The teacher will also present some data about the changes of the Philippine population for the past 5 years and compare
how big is its increase of decrease every year and what does it imply.
Closure:
1. Students will be asked to ponder upon the question “Can we have 1, 000, 000 pcs if we don’t have the idea of 1?”
2. Ask them to share about their insights about the Philippine’s population.
Opening Activity
1. Students will be asked for a short recapitulation and the hanging question that was given as an assignment.
2. Hanging Question, “Can we have 1, 000, 000 pieces if we do not have the idea of 1?” will be retackled.
3. Review of the Place Value Chart and Value of numbers as the teacher present a number and points the digit as she
asks its value or place value.
Main Activities:
1. The teacher will continue pointing the digits until the millions period.
2. In the given number, emphasize the value of zero and follow- up the question, “ Will there be an effect if zero will be
3 removed?”
3. Students will also be asked the question, “Is zero really an important number? Why or why not?”
4. The students will be asked to Think-Write- Pair about their insights about the last question and ask at least 3 pairs to
share their answers.
5. The teacher will ask the students to answer a seatwork in their textbook, Work Together, nos. 9-16, p. 9.
6. After 15 minutes, the teacher will ask the students to exchange books and check their answers.
Closure:
1. The teacher will give feedback on their scores.
2. She will ask the students about their learning for the value of 0.

Opening Activity/ies:
1. The teacher will call some students to recall about the topic yesterday.
2. The teacher will present a number and let the students read by column.
3. The teacher will call 3 students and give them sets of play money. Ask each one to explain or show the amount that
the teacher will be dictating.
Main Activity:
1. The class will be divided into groups with 2-3 members each. Each group will be given a deposit slip, withdrawal slip
4 and a cheque sample. One student should be assigned with a designated paper where he/she will write the amount
that the teacher will be dictating as she reads a short story.
2. Written numbers in the respective slips will be checked as they exchange papers to the other groups. (Dictated
numbers are in hundred thousands)
3. Answers will be processed by the teacher as the importance and usage of each slip will be explained.
Closure:
1. The teacher will asked the students their significant realizations and pieces if learning of the topic.

2. The teacher will present a data about the populations of the Top 10 Most populous countries in the world and ask them
to read the numbers by row.
Main Activity:

1. The teacher will tell a short scenario about a boy buying some stuffs in a store and ask them what will they do if they
are in the same situation.
2. The teacher will analyze their answers and lead them to the topic.

6 Main Activity:
1. The teacher will present a data gathered about the population of all the barangays here in Naga. Three students will be
asked to be a reporter in 1 minute and to make a short dialogue using the presented data.
2. The teacher will ask the pupils, “What is the importance of rounding off numbers in our lives?”
3. Th teacher will analyze the answers and present the steps in rounding off numbers.
4. Students will be asked to answer Work Alone, p. 13 nos. 1-8 found in their notebook.
Closing Activity:
1. The teacher will the students their significant learning of the topic and how it is useful in a simple and larger scale.
