Please find a breakdown of the costs in relation to the additional works required in the wine cellar as discussed in our meeting on 15 November at 14h00, a summary of which is as follows :-
- grind all uncured and loose primer off the floor in all areas previously treated - vacuum and clean the floor of loose debris and dust - treat the floor with an epoxy based sealer/primer and apply a full broadcast of quartz sand to create a uniform surface on which we can prime again as per original quote - add quartz sand to the maincoat of the original floor specification in the barrel room to create texture on the floor for added safety and aesthetic
BREAKDOWN OF COSTS
Epoxy based primer @ R137.83 per litre x 115 litres = R15 850.45
Quartz sand @ 3.20 per kg x 1462.50 kg = R4 680.00
Labour – 3 x staff x 2 days @R350 per day = R2 100.00
Equipment hire – Grinders x 2, Vacuums x 2, heavy duty extension cords x 2, grinding plates x 2 = R6 252.00
TOTAL ADDITIONAL COST EX VAT – R28 882.45

PROCESS OF WORKS:
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION AND PRIMING
All areas - Prepare substrate by scarifying/diamond grinding in order remove partially/uncured primers in preparation for floor coating. Vacuum and ensure dust free.
All areas - Apply Epoxy Resin Primer to floor with a roller 0.4-0.5mm thick and blind with quartz sand in accordance with manufacturer's requirements.
Barrel room – add an additional layer of quartz sand to the maincoat for extra texture.
We estimate the above process will take the better part of 2 full working days.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
• All prices quoted are exclusive of value added tax
• Our quotation presupposes the following minimum substrate requirements:
1. That the concrete substrate is 25MPA compressive and 1.5MPA tensile pull-off strengths 2. That the substrate is dry to the required moisture levels of 4%, and that there is a fully functional damp proof membrane or system in place to prevent rising water, moisture, or damp permeating through the concrete substrate 3. That the substrate concrete or topping is finished to your own expected flatness and required falls for end use 4. That any additional leveling of substrate (other than quoted for) after removal of an existing screed will be at an additional charge
• Electricity & water to be supplied by client
• Any delays for which the client or any of it’s representative are responsible for, will be charged at a rate of R 2 800 per day
• Work is done in accordance with the Health & Safety Act.
• Supplier gives a five year warranty on their product and we give a two year guarantee on defective workmanship
• These prices are valid if all works are conducted together, unless agreed upon in writing.
• The prices quoted herein are valid for 30 (thirty) days from quotation date.
• Work will only commence upon receipt of a purchase order or other communication authorized by the person/s responsible for effecting payment
