QUESTIONS ON TOURISM

1. How would you promote tourism in your province?

As a beauty pageant contestant with a convincing aura of beauty, I could promote my

province by describing it to tourists and entrepreneurs as a place where peace and
security harmoniously go side-by-side. A place where the historical site and its natural
resources are maintained rich and undisturbed; a place where beautiful people live in
peace, in love, and in harmony, helping one another in order to achieve community
projects, goals, and endeavours under the good and internationally outstanding
leadership of the officials; a place where people revere and fear God; that is the home
of sages and the birthplace of the country's notable nationalists, the home of kapeng
barako, Batangas City, my home.

2. What do you think is the main obstacle that our country faces when it comes to tourism, and as
a beauty ambassador of the Earth, how do you think can you help solve the problem?

I think that the most evident problem that we have when it comes to tourism in our
country is the tainted image of the Philippine security system, the bad publicity that
brands our security system as fallible. As an ambassador of the Earth, I would like to
send out my message to everyone in the world, most especially to the foreigners,
beloved tourists, that the Philippines is still your home here in Asia, and we love you.
Thank you.

3. What festival is important in your province, and why?

For me, the most important festival in my province is the upbeat, and very much lively,
Sublian Festival. Sublian is an event wherein people participate in a ceremonial dance to
worship the Holy Cross. It is a day wherein Batanguenos, and even a number of tourists
unite and celebrate God’s name. This is a highly meaningful event as it symbolizes the
cultural and religious oneness of the people of Batangas City.

4. How would you promote tourism in our country?

As a beauty pageant contestant with confidence and a convincing aura of beauty, I could
promote the Philippines, our country, by proudly announcing to the whole world about
the beautiful atmosphere of its location, the pristine bodies of water surrounding it, bio-
diversified landmarks, beautiful beaches, and most importantly, the warm, welcoming
people, the Filipinos.
QUESTIONS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

1. What are the abuses of man to our Mother Earth, and as an ambassador of the Earth, and as a
beauty ambassador of the Earth, how do you think can you help solve the problem?

Man destroys the earth by toxic waste contamination. It may be water, air, land, or even
noise pollution. The preservation of the Earth during the present time lies mainly on the
survival of critical natural resources. I don’t think everyone needs to necessarily praise
nature as much, but mainly, we need not be ignorant to the realities of times. I would
like to make people understand that the environment won’t last forever unless we do
something to sustain it. As an ambassador of the Earth, I would like to send out my
message to everyone in the world that the environment won’t change for us, so we
have to change for the environment.

2. Global warming poses so much destruction and danger to our environment. As an ambassador
of the Earth, how could you help prevent, if not, minimize this phenomenon?

I believe that the most effective way to reduce global warming is through the collective
effort of everyone in the world to reduce the amount of energy we use on a daily basis. We can
use better gas mileage vehicles and hybrid technology, machines that uses solar or thermal
energy. As an ambassador of the Earth, I would educate my friends about energy conservation,
and ask them to do the same to their families and friends, and so on. Because of the domino
effect that I have created, I would have helped the Earth even in the simplest possible way, and I
have made a step closer to change.

3. Identify one specific effect of global warming, and how can it possibly affect you as a human
being.
The most obvious is an increase in air temperature. Heat waves harm people without a
way to get out of the heat. Insects, some of which carries diseases like Malaria and
Dengue fever, can become rampant in some areas, therefore harming more people. No
one is exempted, nobody’s safe from these occurrences. Therefore, global warming can
affect me as a human being, by making me a victim of the aforementioned instances.

4. Technology makes life very convenient but it is also being blamed for certain environmental
problems. How do you propose to find a balance between technology and Earth preservation?
QUESTIONS ON WORLD RELATIONSHIPS

1. How can we attain world peace?

My idea to attain world peace is by building world organizations that help to prevent
war among territories through diplomatic negotiations and bridging gap between
nations. Peace cannot be kept through force; it can only be achieved through
understanding.

2. What is the biggest challenge to the youth today?

The biggest challenge to the youth today is the dilemma on how to respond to the
challenges of the 21st century - that is being able to hold on to what you believe is right;
being able to live, enjoy and inspire people to continue living morally upright,
responsible assuming serious and key leadership roles such as holding a beauty title, or
being an SK official, or even being a young businessman who could later provide jobs to
the unemployed.

3. What is your role as a youth in aiding today’s crisis?

As a youth, my role is to promote social awareness in uplifting poor societal conditions.

The fact that I joined this prestigious pageant gave me the opportunity to promote
programs like these that endeavour the development of one’s personality, confidence,
self-esteem and skills that will later on be of use to his community when he or she
becomes a future professional, like a nurse, a public servant or an entrepreneur.
