    A kindergarten play area.

    KEVIN and JAKE are playing when


    one of them gets an idea.

    KEVIN
    Hey! I bet you can’t beat me in an arm wrestling contest.

    JAKE
    I bet I can!

    KEVIN
    No you can’t.

    JAKE
    Uh huh!

    KEVIN
    Bet.

    JAKE
    Bet!

    They set up on the small table and


    clasp hands.

    KEVIN
    One...

    JAKE
    Two...

    BOTH
    Three!
    Kevin and Jake struggle to gain an
    advantage. Kevin is winning for a
    little bit until Jake slams Kevin’s
    hand on the table.

    JAKE
    Nah-nah-nah-boo-boo.

    Jake does a celebration dance. Kevin


    pouts.

    KEVIN
    That’s not fair! I was winning first.

    JAKE
    So. I put your hand on the table first and that makes me the winner and not you. You wanna go
    again?

    KEVIN
    No. You’re cheater.

    JAKE
    Nuh-uh. You’re just a big cry baby.

    KEVIN
    Am not.

    JAKE
    Are, too.

    KEVIN
    Am not!

    JAKE
    Are, too!

    KEVIN
    I wanna play something else.

    JAKE
    Fine. Bet you can’t beat me in thumb wrestling.

    KEVIN
    Can, too.

    JAKE
    Okay.

    They lock fingers and prepare


    themselves.

    JAKE
    One…

    KEVIN
    Two…

    BOTH
    Three!

    Kevin moves his wrist around to get


    an upper hand

    JAKE
    No fair! You’re cheating.

    KEVIN
    No I not.

    Kevin presses Jake’s thumb down

    KEVIN
    One, two, three! I win!

    JAKE
    You did not.

    KEVIN
    (sing-song)
    I win. I win. I win.

    JAKE
    (mocking)
    I win. I win. I win.

    KEVIN
    Crybaby. Crybaby. Crybaby!

    Kevin blows a raspberry and Jake


    turns away from Kevin. Jake folds
    his arms and Kevin extends his hand.

    KEVIN
    Friends?

    Jake turns around, unfolds his arms,


    and shakes Kevin’s hand

    JAKE
    Friends.

    KEVIN
    Let’s play Legos.

    JAKE
    (cheerfully)
    Okay!

    Jake and Kevin run offstage.

    Blackout
