Agra inner ring road: Bid documents finalised for selection of consultant
• Six lane road proposed to connect NH-2 to NH-3
• To be linked with Yamuna Expressway & Agra-Lucknow Expressway

In a bid to ensure smooth connectivity and traffic within Agra city, State government
has decided for the development of 24.5 km long inner ring road in Agra on Public
Private Partnership (PPP) model. In this regard, Consultancy Evaluation Committee
(CEC) headed by Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC), Anil
Kumar Gupta met here today and finalised Request for Qualification-cum-Request
for Proposal (RFQ-cum-RFP) documents for selection of Consultant. Agra
Development Authority (ADA) made a presentation to the committee in the presence
of Principal Secretary, Housing, S N Shukla, Vice-Chairman, ADA and senior officials of
departments of Finance, Law, Urban Development, etc.
Bids would be invited from Category-1 Consultants empanelled by Ministry of Road
Transport & Highways, Government of India and having experience of at least one
successful completion of similar project. The bidding parameter shall be lump-sum
consultancy fee.
IIDC, Anil K Gupta said, "After Yamuna expressway became functional, there has been
a multitude increase in tourist influx into Agra, proposed inner ring road would not
only ease the traffic within the city for tourists but agricultural and industrial products
would also be easily transported to various bigger markets. "
"This ring road is proposed to be linked to envisaged Agra-Lucknow expressway,
thereby providing direct and smooth connectivity to Lucknow apart from Delhi, Jaipur,
Gwalior, Kanpur, Aligarh, etc.," he added.
IIDC asked Agra Development Authority officials to speed up the process and ensure
selection of developer in six months. Agra Development Authority is the nodal agency
for implementation of this road project.
Vice-Chairman of Agra Development Authority, Lal Bihari Pande informed that
selected Consultant would be required to prepare inception report, detailed project
report (DPR), techno-economic feasibility report, bid documents for selection of
developer, etc. Consultant would also be responsible for bidding process and
selection of developer.
Proposed to be 24.5 Kms long, the six lane (extendable to eight) ring road has been
envisioned to start near Kuberpur on Kanpur Road (NH-2) joining Yamuna
Expressway, ending at Rohta on Gwalior road (NH-3).
