Define the name and features for the deformable spring

1. Start the Modeling application.
2. Choose Menu→Tools→Define Deformable Part.

The Define Deformable Part wizard is displayed. On each page in the wizard,
you define a different element for the deformable part.

3. On the Definition page, in the Name box, type Spring Length.

4. Click Next.
5. On the Features page, from the Features in Part list, select all the features
except theFixed Datum Axis, and then click Add Feature .

All the selected features are added to the deformable part. The Fixed Datum
Axis feature was left out, because it was used only for assembly constraining
purposes. It was not used to create the shock spring.

6. Click Next.

Define the expressions for the deformable spring

1. On the Expressions page, from the Available Expressions list,
select spring_length = 127and click Add Expression .

The expression is displayed in the Deformable Input Expressions list

as spring_length -> spring_length.

2. In the Deformable Input Expressions box, change spring_length to Spring

Length.
3. Under Expression Rules, select By Number Range.
4. Under Number Range, in the Minimum box, type 114.3.
5. In the Maximum box, type 215.9.
6. Click Next.
7. Click Next to bypass the References page options.
8. Review the summary information.
