IMPLEMENTATION

Reservation in Recruitment

• For recruitment of posts on all India basis, in Group “A”,


the applicable reservation is 7.5%
• For recruitment of posts in Group “C” & “D” the
applicable reservation in the respective states is followed
as per Govt. orders.
• Reservation for STs is since inception.
• Member belonging to SC/ST is included in Selection
Committee / Board for recruitment.
Relaxations/ Concessions for STs in Recruitment

• Age relaxation by 5 years.


• No fee is being charged from SC/ST candidates.
• Re-imbursement of Rail/ Bus fare for attending written tests/
interviews.
• Preparation of separate merit list of ST candidates for
interviews.
• For posts in Executive cadre where ONGC conducts its own
tests the candidates have to meet a pre-defined passing
percentage. Such percentage is suitably relaxed in case of ST
candidates to ensure sufficient number of ST candidates to fill
up the reserved posts.

Implementation of Govt. Policies

• ONGC adheres to all instructions and guidelines for the


welfare of STs

• A separate GM Level Chief Liaison Officer is nominated


at Corporate HQs at Dehradun for SC/ST

• Liaison officers are positioned at work centers to


safeguard the interests and welfare of STs employees.
Maintenance of Reservation Rosters
• Rosters are being maintained for all induction levels.
• Rosters are inspected by CLO & Representatives of MoPNG on
annual basis.
• Inspection completed at HQ & Mumbai up to the year 2016,
for remaining sectors the dates for the year 2016 are awaited
from MOPNG.
• The Inspecting Authorities in 2015 found that the rosters are in
order and commented,
Promotions Upto E4 Level

• Promotion in ONGC up to E4 Level are akin to time bound


promotions and hence no reservations are envisaged
• Under this growth oriented promotion policy all eligible
employees, who are otherwise fit, are considered for
promotion to next higher grades/levels after putting in
specified years of service, irrespective of vacancies
Corporate Promotions - E5 and above

• The Corporate Level promotions i.e. E5 and above, are merit


based
• The promotions are considered by high level promotion

• Though there is no reservation in promotion at these levels,
the Selection Committee takes a considerate view as a result

500 SCHOLARSHIP TO SC/ST STUDENTS

• ONGC has introduced 500 scholarship for


meritorious SC/ST students.
• 50% of scholarship have been earmarked for Girls
student .
• An amount of ₹ 48,000/- per annum would be paid
as scholarship amount to each student for the
duration of their respective courses.
• Funds of ₹ 2.40 Crores are allocated for SC/ST
scholarships. .
