- Information presented either in chronological, alphabetical, geographical,

hierarchical, or categorical order

- Simple and clear lay-out;

- Graphical elements for emphasis

- generally in ‘present tense’, otherwise dependent on message type

- Simple sentences;

- Passive voice; Imperative;

- High-frequency vocabulary;
- Figures and symbols to represent concepts;
