9 months according to the planned
schedule. Any delays in the project will
result in the increase in duration and
total cost of the project.
It is to be ensured during project
execution that it is completed within the
planned duration.

Abstract
Cost Estimation is for bidding,
feasibility studies and calculation of
finances required. Scheduling is done
for the calculation of duration and for
monitoring and control of the project.
We have used the specifications and
drawings of the State Life Tower,
Blue Area, Islamabad, and calculated
the estimate and scheduled the
building.

Introduction
Estimation is an important part in
planning and determining the effort
required in the construction process.
The accuracy of the estimate will
deliver on time and within the
constraints of the budget. The more
accurate an estimate, lower the cost of
construction.
Scheduling is done for the evaluation of
duration of a project and its monitoring
and control. It is an step which sets a
benchmark for project progress.

 To study the estimation of cost
and quantities and schedule of a
construction project.
 To prepare detailed estimate of
quantities and cost of the State
Life Building Tower, Blue
Area, Islamabad.
 To develop schedule of the
State Life Building Tower, Blue
Area, Islamabad.
 To analyze Schedule after
updating the Baseline Schedule
Methodology
 Acquiring and studying of drawings
of State Life Tower.
 Preparation of Estimate after
Quantity Take-off.
 Calculation of Duration of each
activity.
 Preparation of Schedule in
Primavera.
Conclusions
The cost of construction of State Life
Tower is Seven Hundred and Thirty One
Million Ninety One Thousand Two
Hundred and Thirty Five PKR (Rs.
731,091,235). The duration of the project is
from April 2013 – January 2019.
