PART I
Title of Activity:Orientation on the Revised Phil-IRI
Date: July 20,2018
Venue: San Isidro Elementary School
Source of Fund: Canteen Fund.
Objectives: To orient/ assist teachers on the proper
administration of the Revised Phil-IRI.
Expected number of Participants: 7
Actual Number of Participants: 7

PART II
Narrative Report:
The Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) is an initiative of
the Bureau of Learning Delivery , Department of Education that addresses
its thrust to make every child a reader. It is anchored on the flagship
program of the Department : “Every Child a Reader Program”, which aims
to make every Filipino child a reader and a writer at his/ her grade level.
The LAC Session was participated by teachers teaching Filipino and
English. It started at 1:30 in the afternoon with a Prayer led by Mrs Rosella
P. Alcantara, a Grade Four Filipino Teacher, followed by an energizer led
by Ms. Lesley-anne R. Corcoro, Grade Five English Teacher. Our Principal,
Madam Abegail P. Fabunan gave a short message that made the
participants more interested in the topic.
Mrs Sylvia J. Cambe, Our Master Teacher and English Coordinator
gave an introduction / essential information about the Phil-IRI. She also
talked about the General Directions for Administration (4 Stages) and
Directions for the administration of the Phil-IRI Group Screening Test. Mrs.
Marilou Pascual, The Filipino Coordinator explained the specific Directions
for the administration of The Phil-IRI Graded Passages and Reading
Intervention.
The last part of the session was an open forum where participants
asked questions about the Phil-IRI. They were readily answered by the
facilitators. The LAC Session ended at 3:40 in the afternoon.
