IV. RATIONALE/PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As per Dep Ed Memorandum No. 048, series of 2021, Brigada Pagbasa is one of the
advocacy programs. In relation to this, the language teachers from English and
Filipino Department would like to utilize and maximize the use of digital platform in
implementing reading activities through Brigada Pagbasa. This activity is part of
the Reading Project “READY Readers”. We call this activity as “Reading Hour”
because we are to conduct live streaming of reading activities once a week having
one hour per session. There will be four sessions for the whole brigada eskwela
time which will start from September 3 – September 30, 2021. The session includes
storytelling, letter reading, poem interpretation and inspirational life story. Every
students of Calamba Integrated School will be encouraged to join the live streaming
via zoom or FB Live. Student-participants will ask their language teachers to list
their names prior to the weekly session. Then, three to five participants will be
entertained to express their reading performances. The facilitators together with the
language teachers will do the evaluation and judging. The best performers will be
announced in the last week of the brigada pagbasa.
