IV/ Result :

Part A: Preparation of KMnO4 solution.

Experiment I:
Calculated weight of solid KMnO4:
Cm x V
 n(KMnO4) = 0.0025 (mol)  m(KMnO4) = 0.395 (g)
Actual weight of solid KMnO4: 0.395(g)
Volume of distilled water: 250mL
Final result: 250mL of 0.01M KMnO4 solution.

Experiment II:
Volume of 0.01 M KMnO4:
C1 x V1 = C2 x V2
 50 x 2x10-3 = V x 0.01  V = 10 (mL)
Volume of distilled water: 40mL
Final result: 50mL of 2mM KMnO solution.

2 0.6 0.6 6

3 0.4 0.4 4

4 0.2 0.2 2

5 0.1 0.1 1

Final result: 10mL of each following solutions: 1.0 mM KMnO4, 0.6 mM KMnO4, 0.4
mM KMnO4, 0.2 mM KMnO4, 0.1mM KMnO4.

Experiment 4:
Volume of 2mM KMnO4: 𝑪𝟏 𝑽𝟏 = 𝑪𝟐 𝑽𝟐 => 2 𝑥 𝑽𝟏 = 𝟏 𝒙 𝟔 => 𝑽𝟏 = 𝟑 (𝒎𝑳)
Dilution factor:
df = V2 / V1 = 6/3 = 2
With V2 = 6 (mL), V1 = 3 (mL)
Final result:
6 mL of each following solutions:
