TURNOVER OF KEY OF RESPONSIBILITY

Principal, Faculty Staff, PTA President and Officers, Alumni, Parents, Juniors, and fellow
Seniors, a pleasant good evening.

This lovely afternoon, 14th day of February in the year 2018 will be one of the most
memorable events of our life, the integral part of our high school experiences – the Junior-Senior
Prom.

In six years of stay in our beloved Alma Mater, the Santiago Institute, our student life here
will soon come to an end. This is the realization that we are leaving high school in the days to come.
We, Seniors, will take an important step into a new stage of our life where greater challenge lies
ahead.

Juniors, you are the inheritors of the strong and proud legacy of our school. Being the next
batch of Seniors, you will continue the cycle of high school life. On your shoulders lies the
responsibility of being the role model where underclassmen will look upon to you as their big
brothers and sisters. You will continue our unfinished tasks as we sail to discover new world. Juniors,
strive to hone your skills and traits of being the leader and role model of the younger students of
our school.

Respect and utilized also the wisdom that you have learned from us, from our experiences
and successes because we have come before you and had crossed this difficult stage of being the
Seniors.

Fellow Seniors, invested me with responsibilities as being the class leader. At this juncture,
it is my honor and privilege to pass on to you, Juniors, the key of responsibilities. We have done
our part and it is now the time to relinquished it on to you.

The key of responsibility bears the weight of task. Carry its weight, and go on with the
journey. We knew that you are willing and able to continue the cycle of work that we are going to
left behind.

This turning over of key of responsibility does not mean that we turned our back toward the
school. It only marks the beginning of our greater responsibility toward our Alma Mater as well as
the community.

We have a vision for our school -- a vision of greatness. I exhort you, all of you, Juniors to
nurture this vision as I passed this key of responsibilities on to you. May each and every one of you
will fulfill your roles and commitments with honor, passion and pride.

Thank You.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE MANTLE OF RESPONSIBILTY

To our Guest of Honor and speaker SPM Mildred Elaydo, School Director Mrs. Louella S.
Miranda and her better half Former Mayor Joselito C. Miranda Sr., our School Board President Mrs.
Caridad M. Centeno, our Board Secretary, SBM Joselito S. Miranda Jr, Board of Directors, Faculty
Staff, PTA President and Officers, Parents, Seniors, a pleasant afternoon/evening.

Today is the time for us Grade 11, to accept and be thankful of the responsibilities that the
seniors are passing to us. You may not be wondering how complicated the word "responsibility" is.
Responsibility means accepting something that you and you alone are accountable for your life.
Being responsible therefore is a realization that you are, where you are and what you are, because
of your conduct and behavior. We, Grade 11 must be trained to accept every responsibility that we
are accountable of. We must start now. Not later nor tomorrow, because being responsible today
makes us a successful person someday.

Accepting the mantle of responsibility is not about the key itself, it is about how we would
handle and serve as a leader to the lower batch. Batch mates, we are no longer kids. We must now
learn how to discipline ourselves, we must learn how to control our unstoppable voices and lastly
we must now be able to distinguish what is right from what is wrong. Next school year, the lower
batch will be accepting the same key of responsibility. It is cliché to say "Good leader is a good
follower", but that is a fact, what do I mean by that? Next school year we will be seniors, we will
be the leader of the lower batch. But the phrase "good leader is a good follower" won't make any
sense if we won’t apply it. So as a start, we must learn how to follow God, our Parents, our
Teachers and lastly, the rules and regulations of our school. Rules and regulations of our school
are so essential in our life, because disciplined people knows how to follow it, responsible people
knows how to apply it and I say successful people are thankful for those. If we learn and start to
follow it, we can be a good leader, a model to everyone and a successful person too.

In behalf of the lower grade, we whole heartedly and humbly accept the mantle
of responsibility that you entrusted to us. The legacy that you will leave in our school and in our life
will still continue. The values you showed will not stop in our batch, as what I’ve said, it WILL
CONTINUE. Because the next time we pass these responsibilities, we will definitely remind the
younger ones how you took care and handled everything here in our Alma mater. We may have
had conflicts in the past but that's only up to there, because for us, students of Santiago Institute,
forgiveness is next and for that, we would like to thank you for being our “ates” and “kuyas” in our
school, thank you for being a sport whenever we have a game or contest to compete and Thank
you for being an instrument of GOD in our school.

Seniors, May God bless you and May you have a successful life.

Let’s not forget that being responsible today makes us a successful person someday.

Thank you and have a fruitful afternoon/evening everyone.
