RE: ROAD CUTTING ON KALANGA ROAD

Reference is made to the above captioned matter and your letter in which you requested
for permission to carry out road cutting on Kalanga road.

I wish to inform you that your request to cut part of the road reserve to facilitate the
replacement of a water pipe has been granted for the road as per schedule.
Nevertheless, permission is based on the following conditions:
I. Lusaka City Council reserves the right to enter upon the land, if need arise for
any future road works or installation of other services at no cost to the Council.
II. Reinstatement must be done upon completion of the works failure to which you
will be charged fivefold the cost of reinstatement.
III. You make arrangements to control and direct traffic during the period of works
which should also include road signage.
IV. Facilitate for the detour, to be identified and prepared before the road-cutting
work begins.
V. Liaise with other stakeholders/utility entities that have/may have their network
underlying along the sites you propose.
VI. You are to organise a contractor in Grade R NCC category with the competency
in carrying out proper reinstatement (submit particulars of contractor to LCC)

VII. You are required to inform our Engineering Services Department as soon as you
are ready to commence works so as to ensure that standards are adhered to.
VIII. You are therefore required to pay;
a. Road cutting charge of K540.00 to the Lusaka City Council
b. Application fee of K300.00 to Council upon receipt of this notification
before commencement of any excavation works on the ground.
You are therefore required to pay a total of Eight hundred and Forty Kwacha,
K840.00 which must be deposited in the bank account given below.
