The students are expected to:
a. name prominent businesses in the Philippines;
b. explain the environment forces in the identified business firms; and
c. Summarize the business forces through SWOT-PESTEL analysis.

Activity “LOGO GUESSING GAME”

The students will be grouped into four.

The students will play the Logo guessing game.

The teacher will flash logos of business firms and let the students identify the name of the
business by writing on a slate. The students will only be given 5 seconds to answer.

At the end of the activity, the students will have to count their scores to see how much
they are aware of the business firms.

Analysis After the activity, the students will have to answer the following questions:
a. How were you able to identify the business firm?
b. How does a name or a logo contribute to the prominence of the business firm?
c. Aside from the logo, what are the other things that make the business known?
Abstraction The teacher will expand on the following topics:

Application The students will be grouped again to the same group in the activity. Each of the groups
will be given an information sheet about the business firm they will going to analyze.
Using their personal experience and the information given to them, they will fill out the 4-
square diagram.

Group 1: Jollibee
Group 2: McDonalds Philippines
Group 3: Mang Inasal

Each group will be given 10 minutes to brainstorm.

The groups will be graded according to the following rubric:

1. Why is there a need to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats inside and outside the firm?

Group 1: Slogan
Mechanics:
1. Construct a slogan of at least 7-10 words explaining your answer.
Group 2: Poster
Mechanics:
1. Sketch a scenario in the business that explains the importance of SWOT analysis.
Group 3: Broadcasting
Mechanics:
1. Report a 1 minute-news cast showing scenarios that reflects the importance of
SWOT Analysis.

1. Research on the local and international business environment of a firm.


2. Explain the role of business in relation to the economy.
