Ass. Wr. Wb.

Good morning all,

First of all, let’s say Alhamdulillah and thank to our God, Allah SWT., because of His
mercy and blessing, we can be here safely without any obstacle. Second, shalawat and salam are
always delivered to our prophet Nabiyullah Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the
darkness into the brightness ad Dhinul Islam.

Ladies, and gentlemen.

My name is Milka, from safety engineering. In this occasion, let me bring us to talk about
industrial revolution 4.0. More about it, we will talk about how our role is as a college student to
face this new era. Are we fully ready with it? First, before going through it all, we have to know
first what is the meaning of industrial revolution? Industrial revolution is defined as the massive
changes in manufacturing and transportation, moreover, is defined as a sophisticated process of
industry.
The industrial revolution 1.0 used water and steam power to mechanize production. The
industrial revolution 2.0 used electrical power to create mass production, and the industrial
revolution 3.0 used electronics and information technology to automate production. Last, the
industrial revolution 4.0 industrial revolution uses wireless connectivity system, internet, and
networks as a data transfer.

My audiences, realize it or not, we can’t live without the outcomes of the fourth industrial
revolution. From the smallest example, when we start the day by checking notifications on our
phone, then spend the day by opening social media and got activities such as shopping, after that
pay with the virtual payment which is so effective because rapidly velocity of money without any
physical money roam around everywhere as it called as cashless.

In a huge scale, let see the impact to the economic side of Indonesia. Mr. Ngakan Timur
as a chief of Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Industri (BPPI) said the demand of labor is
increasing until 96% especially in of R&D and software development sector. It means, Indonesia
is ready to conquer industrial revolution 4.0.

My fellow audiences, ladies, and gentlemen.

Right now we are standing on the brink of the new era, ready or not. What we can do in
this time is prepare our society, in terms of physically, mentally, and also especially our skill.
And then I’m talking with the young audiences, we–as a milennial generation–what is our role,
our action, and our contribution, in order to give positive impact for society and country in the
industrial revolution 4.0 era? As we know, in this era there are a lot of upcoming new jobs.
Therefore, first thing that we have to do is explore our passion and maximally develop our
potency, not only in academic fields but also in creativity and innovation fields. Not only in local
but also global. Second, always learn more about new knowledge which engaged with
technology continuously, consider that this time we can easily get a lot of information through
the smart phone. Third, let’s make our knowledge useful by doing a dedication and giving
services for society. For example, we can educate farmer about technology, and teach them how
to access and integrate it with their jobs, so that they can easily monitoring and maintaining their
agricultural products. This is called as smart farming 4.0. We can also do a lot of examples in
other sectors.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I think is enough from what I talked about our preparation to face industrial revolution
4.0. We all can conclude that we have to use it wisely and start to contribute for our society,
because it’s not about how to impress, but it’s all about how to impact.

Thank you for your attention, I’m sorry if I made a lot of mistakes, last that I can say,

Wass. Wr. Wb.
