Society And The Morality in Students.

We are living in a fast changing society. Many modern inventions have changed our
lives. Man has been living a mechanical life. Our minds are under the influence of many
factors. Internet and TV are making us familiar with other world too. We tend to follow
the way the other world lives. Students see a variety of programs on TV. They are
shown violence and sex. It influences their minds. These are very harmful for the all
round development of the students. The increased number of crimes show that people
are going astray. They are not following the path our Gurus and Rishis tried to show to
the society. It is the need of the hour that students should be imparted moral education.
They should be taught from their childhood what is wrong? and what is right?The
students are the future of their nation. If they develop good qualities of life in their
childhood, it will help them develop good character. They should be taught to respect
their elders. They should be taught to help the needy. They should become good citizens.

Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji taught us to do hard work to earn our living. If the students learn
this quality they will not cheat any person. They will not like corruption. They will not
deprive any poor of their hard earned money.
Our Gurus taught us to respect the women. But see how the girl child and the women are
treated nowadays. If the students learn the teachings of the Gurus they will never allow
female foeticide and the burning of the brides. The increased numbers of rapes of the
women clearly show the handicapped mentality of the society. Where this society is
heading on? Does anybody want these horrible incidents should happen to anyone?
Certainly a civilized society condemn these cruelties done to women. So students should
be taught the moral education to respect the sanctity of women from their childhood.

Our students are under the danger of becoming a prey to drug addiction. They should be
taught that this drug addiction can destroy the whole society. No person can feel himself
safe if it is inhabited by the drug addicts. We know that a drug addict can take any step
to make arrangements for his drugs. He can steal from any place, he can injure anyone,
he can kill anyone. He does not spare even his own family. He can kill even his parents.
Does anyone want this kind of society? Certainly not. So the need of the hour is that our
students should be given moral education. They should be taught good moral values of
life. Only then we can expect our India to progress.
