Lesson Plan in HEALTH 8

I. Objective
At the end of the class, the students would be able to:
a. Identify some of the dangers of cigarette smoking.
b. Create a Slogan about the dangers of cigarette smoking.
c. Raise awareness on the dangers of cigarette smoking.

A. Pre-Activity

a. Prayer
“Good Morning students! Before we start our class, Gono: “Classmate, let us pray. In the name of the

“How about Rule no. 3?”
Fred: “Rule no. 3 sir is that once the teacher uses

“Good job! Lastly, who can tell me the fourth and


the last house rule?” Gwen: “Before and after the class, all students
must pick up pieces of paper around them.”

“Okay, Very Good Gwen. So housemate is there


any question on the House rules and regulation?”

“Okay then, let us proceed.”

d. Motivation (Students are raising their hands)

“So now, who among you here have watched PBB?


(Students are raising their hands)
“Okay, what have you observed every time “Kuya”
gave a task to his housemates?”
Coronel: “Kuya gave a card with instruction inside

“Yes correct.”

“Okay, today just like in PBB I will be your Kuya or All: “Yes Big Brother”

it is understood that you have to follow and finish
the entire task that I will give you. Did I make

“But before that, let us divide the class into 4 (Students are counting off)
groups. Count from 1-4 starting from the last
person at the back.

Group 2 on the left side, Group 3 on the back part
and Group 4 besides the Group 3.

“So now, I have a task for you. I will give you these
brown envelop and you get the card with a green
border. Inside that card is the instruction for you
first task. Who can read?
Eullaran: “Instruction:
“Yes Eullaran?  Choose a representative within your group.
 Each representative of the group must sip the
milk powder on a cup.
 After the representative finished the milk
powder, he/she must look for the
corresponding card on the Box based on the
color of the cup and paste it on the board..
 The first group to finish the task before the
given time will get a reward.

“So, are there any questions or qualifications with All: “None Big brother”
regards to the instructions?”

Okay then, I will give 3 minutes to finish the task. All: “Yes Big Brother”
Are you ready housemates?

Representative of the Group be in your position. On (Representative starts their task)

“Okay Congratulations Group 2 for being the first (Students are clapping their hands)

“Very Good! Our topic is all about the Dangers of
Cigarette Smoking. So, who among you here have
friends or relatives who use cigarettes?”
(Students are raising their hands)
“Okay based on your observations what happen to
a person who uses cigarettes?”
Anastasha: “Their lips turns dark big brother”
“Yes Anastasha?”
Taca: “Their face looks older.”
“Yes correct, other answer Taca?”

“Very good! So, those are just some of the effects


of the Cigarettes smoking.”

A. Lesson Proper

a. Activity All: “Yes Big Brother”


“Later we will tackle more but before that you will
face another task. Are you ready?”
(Students are raising their hands)
“Inside the brown envelop, get the paper with
yellow boarder. Who can read the instruction?
Natalie: “Instruction:
“Yes Natalie?  Choose two representatives in each group.
 The first person must wear a stocking in his
head and the second person holds the
stocking at the back.
 Then, the person who wears the stocking
must reach for the key on the table while the
other person holds and pulls the stocking at
the back.
 The stocking must not be released from the
head or else they will start from the
beginning.
 After getting the key, the rest of the group
may start answering the questions on the
card with red boarder inside the brown
envelop.
 Identify the following the dangers of
smoking based on the given description of
each item.
 Paste it on the Manila paper.
 After you finish answering it, paste it on the
Board.
 Use the format (Dangers= Description)
 The first group to finish the task will have a
reward.”

All: “None Big Brother”


“Is there any questions or clarifications about the
task?

All: “None Big Brother”


“Then, I will give you 5 minutes to finish the task.
Any question?”
(Housemates are starting their task)
“Now, your 5 minutes starts now.”

“Times up! Congratulations group 4.

“Let’s check If your answers are correct.”

B. Analysis (Housemates are raising their hands)


“Okay, but before that to those who wear the
stocking, how do you feel while reaching the key?”
Yucom: “It’s hard to breath Big brother”

observation. Then, what do you think is the relation

abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or
spread to other parts of the body. CANCER Big

“Is it correct?”

“Very good everyone! So, using cigarettes may
also lead to cancer. These are growth of abnormal (Housemates are raising their hands)

of cancer caused by cigarettes smoking?

“Yes Bea?”
Bea: “Lung Cancer Big Brother”
“Correct! Any other answers Francees?
Francees: “Mouth and neck cancer Kuya.”
“Good job Francess! So, those are just some of an
example or type of cancer related to cigarettes
smoking.”

“Let us proceed, who can read and answer the 4th


question?” (Housemates are raising their hands)

“So now I will give you 15 minutes to finish your task


and your time starts now.”

“Time is up! Clean your surroundings and go back


to your seats. Okay let’s start the presentation of
work with group 1.”

“Let’s give a hand for group no. 1. Now let’s hear


from group 2.”

“Good Job group 2. How about from group 3?”

“Excellent group 3. Lastly, let’s hear from group 4?

“A round of applause everyone for a job well done.
You presented your work well. The content is very
nice and also the delivery, it’s very clear like you
really wanted to tell us something about Cigarette
smoking.” (Group 2 present their work)

“But in this task, the group that excels the most is


Group 3 for their work tells a lot of things and its (Group 3 present their work)
very neat and distinct compared to other works.
