of the short texts listened to".

listening strategies based on
purpose".

"What is listening?"

"Thank you for answering Ms/Mr.

"Yes,it is giving attention and
essential skill for effective
leadership".
"Do you understand what is
listening?"
"In listening, there are Five Key Active
Listening Techniques".

"Let's define what is Active Listening,

Active listening is a very important
communication skill. When you listen
actively, you understand the other
person better.

"The five active listening techniques

are,
Pay attention, Show that you're
listening, Provide Feedback, Defer
Judgement, and Respond
appropriately.

"Let's talk about Pay attention". Who

wants to read?

"Thank you". Paying attention is give

attention” when the speaker means
“be attentive.” However, we can
“give” someone our attention as well
as “pay” attention to someone.

"Example: You don't have to pay

attention to what he says. Most car
accidents happen because drivers
don't pay attention.

"Do you want to add some

examples?.

How about the show that you're

listening?

"When we say the show that you're

listening it is a body language and a
gesture to show that you're engage".

"The example is Nod your head, smile

and make small noises like “yes” and
“uh huh.

"Do you have any clarification about

the example?"
"Let's have the Provide Feedback".
What is Provide feedback in you own
opinion?
"Yes, Ms./Mr.?"

"Thank You Mr./Ms". In provide

feedbacks it is giving an evaluation to
the learners or someone.
"For example, when a Student
teacher make a Lesson plan you will
critique or give feedback to their
works".

"Are we clear now?"

Do you have any questions?

"Next, we have defer judgement".

What is defer judgement class?

"When we say defer judgement it is

to delay an action or proceeding".
Remain open, rather than quickly
forming an opinion.

For example, If you find yourself

disagreeing, try to see the situation
from their perspective – it doesn't
mean you have to agree.

Did you get it now?

"Last is Respond Appropriately, Who

wants to read and give example?"

"Yes, it involves taking the

responsibility to act judiciously, as
opposed to reacting from habitual
tendencies".
"Do you have any clarification
regarding our topic?".
d.Application "With the same group". I will give
different task to perform.

Directions: Each group pick a task to

perform which are Story telling,
Rapping, and Compose a song.
IV- Evaluation
Direction: Read and answer the
sentence carefully.

1. Why Paying attention is give

attention when the speaker means be
attentive?
2. What is the reason of giving a
feedback to someone's work?
3. When did you defer a judgement?
4. How to encourage a listener to pay
attention?
5.What are the Five techniques in
active listening?
