Closing the Divide

You likely have one of the biggest components in closing

the digital divide; a smart phone. With the combination of
communication and information, smart phones are the perfect
way to give access to those who don’t. Government programs
cover them for those who are extremely impoverished, and even
if one does not qualify for them, there are a wide variety of
cheap smart phones. With integration of phones into society and
school, the divide is closing.
Another technology that is aiding in closing the gap is the
laptop computer. With technology becoming more and more
necessary for education, many county school systems are giving
laptops to students. Those who previously had no way to work at
home now have a computer to stay up to date with their fellow
students.
