The Observed Information:

Questions:
1. Which of the twelve attributes is the highest among the teachers?

Intelligence, Resourcefulness, Compassion, Buoyancy, Objectiveness, Self-Motivation,

Pleasantness, Refinement, Cooperativeness and Reliability

2. Which of the twelve attributes is the lowest among the teachers?

Emotional Stability and Self Confidence.

3. How many teachers are low in emotional stability?

There are two (2) teachers who are low in Emotional Stability. According to the definition of
being an emotional stable, a teacher must have an ability to be calm under pressure, cheerful
and optimistic and level headed. However, in the tallied data from the interview, there are two
teachers who are low in this quality. Maybe one reason of being low in emotional stability is the
stress in their environment that should be carried out because being a teacher is a satisfaction
within our soul.

4. How many teachers are high in compassion?

There are nine (9) teachers who are high in compassion. Being a teacher, you must love all
areas under the sun about teaching; your workplace, co-teachers and mostly, your students. As
a teacher, you must be compassionate about your work; put yourself in your student’s situation
and make teaching as your passion to realize your mission as teacher.

5. What six attributes are found to be strong among the teachers?

According to the tallied scores, Objectiveness got the highest average gained. It was seconded
by three personal attributes; Reliability, Compassion and Buoyancy. Resourcefulness came
third.
6. What six attributes are found to be weak among the teachers?

The first attribute that founded to be weak among the teachers is Emotional Stability and Self
Confidence. Pleasantness, Self-motivation and Cooperativeness came second.

7. What interesting observations can you spot from the data that were not asked?

There are last two attributes founded to be neutral in the tallied scores. That’s why I only
included five attributes at each question. It is Intelligence and refinement. It is the neutral part
that is common to every teacher that I interviewed. I think these attributes needs some
improvement because it is also being neglected.
My Reflections
1. Why are some teachers reported to have bumped a learner’s head on the wall or made
the child swallow scratch paper or pencil filings? What attribute do you think is low for
this teacher?

For me, they are low in Emotional stability, Compassion, Intelligence and Objectiveness.
I included Emotional Stability and Compassion because these are the attributes that are really
low in some teachers in the field. I think some teachers do negative things to students because
their emotion is unstable. They tend to punish their students who are not paying attention in the
class discussion. They are also low in Compassion. In the first place, they already forgot the
rule of Ethics of being a teacher. I include Intelligence because this quality is also a big
advantage for you to be professional enough for not hurting your students. If you are intelligent,
you know that it is just a waste of time being a nightmare for every learner and be an angel
instead and let them achieve their dreams. Lastly, Objectiveness, some teachers have no
objectives in class. It is like teaching for a test, not for their future. If you have your objectives,
you’ll avoid being bad to every student because you are concerned with the process and the
product of the holistic development of your students. Before, there are so many issues and
problems about this happening in the learner’s environment. However, in due of some reasons,
hurting a student mentally and physically is already punishable by law.

2. Why do you think some teachers are better loved by the students than others?

For the reason that, some teachers are very lovable and knows how to appreciate the
differences among students. A teacher who prepare students for their future not for their past.
And a teacher that would affect his students eternally. As a student, I also have my favorite
teachers, why? Because they saved me in the absence of learning. They gave me values and
attitude towards the importance of knowledge and learning as well. Above all. A great thank to
my great teacher. My Creator.

3. If you were to choose, which personal attributes should all teachers possess? Why?

a. Compassion. As a teacher, you must be compassionate. You must put yourself in your
student’s shoes. Know what they feel and love your profession even if you’re having a hard
time with your students because your concern is their future not your salary.
b. Emotional Stability. Being emotional stable is being concern enough about your profession.
You must know how to handle yourself in difficult times. Don’t blame your mistake in your
students because sometimes, your students don’t know your problem unless you say it to
them. You must know your students. Even if you encounter problems, you must know how
to get rid of it so that your class discussion won’t be distracted.

c. Self-Confidence. Every teacher needs to express every lesson directly without any
hesitations, Being confident is you know how to accept what you don’t know and don’t push
yourself to be intelligent. What’s best is your student’s know you and who you are for them.

d. Resourcefulness. To utilize used things and be thrifty. If you are a resourceful teacher you
can influence not just your co-teachers, but also your students. In addition, if you show this
quality to your students, they could apply this to their real life.

e. Fairness. It is the best or needed quality in the learning environment of being a teacher.
Some teachers really doesn’t understand individual differences. Some have favouritism and
doesn’t give importance for students who are having difficulty learning things which is wrong
because they are the students who most need importance. You must be fair to everyone.

f. Intelligence. You must be intelligent because you know how to integrate every lesson to
make it easy to understand for your students.

My Affirmed Concepts
After reflecting on this episode and recalling my previous subjects, I have realized that
there are several concepts in the teaching profession about personal attributes. I, learning that
has been affirmed and confirmed, examples of which are given below:

I learned that every personal attributes of a teacher greatly affects the classroom and the
student’s learning. I also realized that teachers really are the pioneers or the pillars rather of the
student’s holistic development. Achieving those qualities is not easy. You need to have an experience
first before you can have the glance of the real problem. I can remember one mistake that I’ve
committed this college. I really regret that. In our humanities subject, I am acting to be more intelligent
than my professor. Yes, Arts is really my forte, and I think he hasn’t read about what his talking all the
time. However, I know that It was really wrong now. I realized that, what if, I am in his situation and my
student is trying to be like me too? It’s really hard. So to avoid that scenario in the real learning
environment, try to possess all the qualities and not be happy with that achievement you became but
be happy that you realized that teaching is the key to success.

My Future Application

As a future teacher, I will be a role model and would do everything that I could do to help them
learn & understand every lesson. However, I think that it will not be easy for me to achieve my
philosophy because in the real scenario, It’s hard to realize. But I’ll continue studying not just to achieve
my dreams but my student’s also.

When I had my micro demo teaching, It was just an hour but it turns out to be the rest of my life.
I really enjoyed it. Even if they’re not in the field of music, they showed me faces of students who are
willing to participate and eager to learn about the East Asian Music. I will not forget that class because I
realized that being creative has it’s purpose; It’s to be shared.

I’ll practice every day just to have these positive attributes of a teacher, because if I may not be
the Best teacher for them, at least, I’m better and confident enough that with me, their mind, soul and
body will not be hungry and be satisfied forever.
