Yayasan Dreamdelion Indonesia (Dreamdelion) is a non profit organization that

consists of youth with spirit to help marginal community. Established since 18 July 2012,
Dreamdelion focused on 3 pillars: Dreamdelion Cerdas (Dreamdelion for Education),
Dreamdelion Sehat (Dreamdelion for Health) and Dreamdelion Kreatif (Dreamdelion for
Creativity). Besides that, Dreamdelion also focus to groom youth talents as community
empowerment practitioner.

DREAMDELION for Creativity
Upgrade the skills of local society based on their local resources, then they can get income through those
new skills. Dreamdelion focus on creative industry. Besides that, Dreamdelion also introduce concept of
cooperation for society.

We encourage everyone to keep their environment become clean and healthy. Our programs are
vertikultur, health society movement (GEMAS – Gerakan Masyarakat Sehat), and environmental
research for children.

Dreamdelion collaborated with more than 100 institutions

Dreamdelion Jakarta
The first Dreamdelion Jakarta activities conducted in block 4, 8 and
12 Manggarai, South Jakarta, on 2012 – 2016. Dreamdelion have
three main programs there, which is Dreamdelion for Education
(children library, scholarship, “share the love”, and parenting
program), Dreamdelion for Health (vertikultur, health society
movement and environmental research for children), and
Dreamdelion for creativity (women empowerment with tailor and craft
training).

Dreamdelion Jakarta also conduct NSBC (National Social Business

Camp), collaborated with Rumah Perubahan Rhenald Khasali, which
invited 15 groups from all over Indonesia to got social business
training in a week.

In 2017, Dreamdelion Jakarta focused to disability children, so

Dreamdelion cooperated with Rumah Autis. With Rumah Autis, we
create event to promote disability childrens creative product which
name is Gelar Karya Anak Spesial. Dreamdelion Jakarta also have
community empowering activities in Slum flats (Rusunawa) Pinus
Elok, Cakung in East Jakarta. There we focused to blow children’s
dream, so they dare to dream bigger.
Dreamdelion Cianjur
Rawa Belut Village in Cianjur is one of poor area in Indonesia. In there, we can find the human
trafficking practice, especially for a woman with age 12-20 years old. We collaborated with Yayasan
Tunas Bangsa (YTB) to encourage children there to continue their education from junior high school to
senior high school. We also conducted character education for them and festival for people around
there. Our program named with Menyebarkan Wawasan, Utarakan Mimpi (MENTARI) to grow
confident, responsibility, collaboration, creativity, and make them brave to dream.
Dreamdelion Yogyakarta
Sumberarum is a village located in rular area of Yogyakarta, 25
KM away from the city. Most of men there work as farmer while
the women become weaver. Stagen (Javaneese traditional
corset) weaving has already become Sumberarum’s local
product. There were 369 stagen waivers living and earing their
life through weaving in 2009.

Weaving is being an alternative activity when the rice field only

can be harvested twice a year. Before stagen got modified, the
weavers had sold layers of stagen to the broker for only IDR
15.000 (USD 1.1) for 10 meterts.

Everyday, the weavers approximately could produce 10-20

meters of stagen layers. Ironically, they they could only bring
home around IDR 5.000-13.000 (USD 0.5)/10 meters. They only
receive about IDR 500.000 (USD 38.5)/month, means it’s only
38% of total minimum wage in Yogyakarta. We can see that their
hard-work didn’t paid off properly. Then, Dreamdelion has come
and worked with them since 2013 to innovate black/white stagen
become rainbow stagen.

Dreamdelion collaborate with people in Sumberarum to

innovate the stagen to become more value-added product and
also have collaboration with GEF-SGP managing the village to be
an eco-tourism object named Rainbow Village.

In Rainbow Weaving Village, You’ll Get…
Dreamdelion Surabaya
Dreamdelion Surabaya started on early 2017. In the first 6 months, the activity focus on social campaign
to inspired youth generation. And since September, Dreamdelion Surabaya collaborated with mothers in
Kampuoeng Dolanan and Padipari to make handcraft with trash material, for the example trash bin
from bottle. Another surprise from Dreamdelion Surabaya was conducted Festival Ibu Kreatif (Fesbuk) on
24 December. In this event we proved that marginal community able to show their creativity if we help
them to grow.

Dreamdelion Ngawi

Dreamdelion Ngawi offer educative (education and

creative) concept of community empowerment. The
target is children with age 4-12 years old. We conduct
informal school for children, library, and also
parenting program for their parents. This program
just started on May 2017 with ‘Drop Your Book
Campaign’ and this program also supported by Ministry
of Woman Empowerment and Children Protection –
they supported educational games.
