(d) Volume of water required for given retetion period = 150 cusec
(e) Internal diameter of jackwell = 6m
(f) Water depth Required = 5.30786 m
(g) Depth require for silt deposit and depth of sump = 1.5 m
(h) Total depth below Minimum Water Level = 6.80786 m
(i) Floor level = 203.192 m
Floor level provided = 202.75 m

2. Calculation for Inlet pipe of Jackwell: Water level=210.0m

(a) Flow required = 500 lps
(b) Head over the pipe at top of pipe = 1.2 m 1.2m
(c ) If head over the pipe is considered from top of pipe = 208.8 m 208.80m
(d) Velocity = (2gh)^0.5 = 4.85222 m/s
(e) Diameter of pipe provided = 0.8 m 800mm
(f) X-section area of pipe = 0.5024 sqm
(g) Discharge of pipe(Q) = 2437.75 lps 208m
> 500 lps
