For the month of October, the UAP-Baguio Chapter has incorporated TED Talks
by the members of the Baguio City Chapter. TED Talks are short but very informative
talks given by a speaker which last usually 15-18minutes only. As an introduction, the
first talk was given by Ar. Ma. Criselda P. Soriano which explains the origin of TED
Talks from why is it called TED and why it became so popular. The next TED Talk was
given by Ar. Rafael G. Chan, one of the fuap’s of the Baguio City Chapter which talked
about the Code of Ethics in the practice of architecture. The last TED Talk was given
by Ar. Llyan Oliver Austria, which talks about Social Media Era, and about his personal
experiences on how he became a top notcher in the board exam. What made this
GMM more exciting was that members that attended were in their Halloween attire
and some costumes really stood out to be really scary.

October means Halloween and Oktoberfest as well. So why not combine the two
festivities in one event. After the very educational and informative TED Talks, members
of the UAP-BCC award the attendees with scariest costume and enjoy a very
competitive tournament of Beer Pong. The top 3 scariest costumes were Ar. Josephine
Chan with her very terrifying costume of Valak from the Conjuring movie, Ar. Shirley
Damoco with her version of the demonic clown, Pennywise, and Ar. Romeo Galletes
with his version of the famous undying serial killer, Jason. Teams of three were made
and were brought to a single elimination ladder match-up in order to determine the
champion team. There were 10 teams to participate, and the declared champion was
the “IT-team” which were composed of Ar. Arven Lac-amen, Ar. Shirley Damoco, and
Ar. Julie Ann Manabat.
